Z Series [Official] E89 BMW Z4

The BMW Z models are a line of roadsters manufactured by German automaker BMW. The Z stands for Zukunft (German for future), and has been produced in four different series with six generations consisting of roadster, coupé, sports car, and concept variants. The introduction of the M Coupé and M Roadster in the Z3 line marked the first of the Z series to have a high-performance BMW M variant. The first generation Z4 also continued to offer M Coupé and M Roadster variants. The current Z4 (G29) uses BMW's (B58B30) inline-six, its platform is the basis for the current Toyota Supra.
I don't unserstand why they put a countdown and everything and gave all the pictures, informations and even some videos 1 day and a half before...

I'm not complaining, that's cool to finally see it but it's quite strange...

I'm still waiting for Scott's real video ! the ones we've seen are ok but we need a "concept video" withterrific music like the one he did for the X6 for example...

And I really hope there's one...

Too bad the car in the videos is not the blue one... Everyone seems to prefer it...

Anyone know if it can fit an electric guitar hard case in the trunk with the through loading option to the front passenger seat (which is a surprisingly first for a roadster and very practical and cool feature)?

strange question I know.

Mike

I'm not sure if you mean the "ski-bag -like" option briefly featured in this video (starts at about 1:29)

Er, yes. Do you think they've bothered to find out if you can fit your guitar in the trunk? No.

What's so wrong about him asking that question? I can't see it how it could be impossible for anyone to answer it.

Very useful video!! yes it answers my question, what we see here is the ski loading through, which is slightly thinner than what the 3 series can offer with it's optional wide opening through loading.

Because the pictures were only leaked yesterday and he's already asking "Dur, can I fit my guitar in there?" Good grief.

What exactly did he answer? :eusa_doh: The press release said it had a ski bag. What more have you learnt from seeing that video?

I could see clearly that it wasn't wide enough to fit a guitar case.
You have 6 posts on this forum, about 4 of them regarding this issue. How about moving on?

Not until we sort out this guitar issue. Can anybody confirm that Mike Strawberry will be able to put his guitar in the boot of the E89 Z4? I'm not going to rest until it's resolved. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you Mike. To be fair, you yourself said it was "a bit of a strange question".

lol, come on now.
The question was a bit weird and indeed early, but I see nothing wrong with it either. These kind of owner's input/output is very much welcome on the forum imo :)

What would be great is photos of the car in the 9 available colors...

I wonder what we will have more at the end of the countdown...

Probably a website...

I think they have delayed it by 2 hours and a half...

It was 9h30 tomorrow and now it's 12h...

The Consumption of the 23i is the same as the 30i ! 12,4 liters/100km in the city...

It's a very bad concumption for an "efficient dynamic" car... and it's completely absurd to have two engines one of 204hp and one of 254hp having the same concumption and same CO2 emissions...

And like EnI said, it's far away from the 3series convertible which was released far before...

It's a complete nonsense...

It's the only disapointment I have with the car, but it won't prevent me buying it... :D

More pics have one made the new model look better and better and video is great too. Well done BMW, and I'll be there to see it in person about one month from now. Can't wait!

2009 BMW Z4 - Official Photos

Mind Blowing, my only concern is as usual the wood on the dash.

Does anyone have these pictures in good quality.
They are perfect wallpaper material. The Z4 looks so beautiful in them. :t-cheers:

Is there a designated button to open and close the iDrive screen or is it a mater of pushing and pulling the screen?

Good question. I doubt very much that it will be as clumsily intergrated like that, so I would guess there is a button somwhere which we haven't seen or there is no option, and it simply opens and closes as the ignition is turned on and off. Obviously there was one on the old Z4.

;)

This car has been COMPLETELY designed by a team of female designers ... almost:

Juliane Blasi - exterior design
Nadya Arnaout - interior design (the one who designed CS Concpet interior as well)
Hilke Schaer - materials, trim & colors

:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Great work, girls. :D

The only chap to complete the girl's work was the interior detail designer: Felix Baerlin

Yep.
