Damn!

It has been a few years since a car screamed/promised such brutal performance while sitting still. The carbon trim is still too much but all the functionality is beautiful in its own way I guess. I still can't get it over it having an optional automatic. The performance will be scathing. Z07 package, searing.

Looks soooooooooooo sinister.

Wait a min........... "or an all-new 8L90 eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission designed to enhance both performance and efficiency."

:wideyed:

A Z06 with an optional automatic...wow.

It's the GT3-ification of track_capable cars!

This is probably the only American car that I would truly desire to own despite it only being LHD.

Just marvel at how compact that supercharged 6+ litre V8 is. Who says that pushrod OHV tech doesn't have its advantages?

It's like Porsche and they rear-engined setup, it might be from the dark ages but don't right it can still be very effective.

I have seen a few Vettes now. It looks really good in dark grey or black (except the rear). Every other color it looks like a clown. IMHO.

And you call yourself an American Sunny. Such utterances of heresy with dog breath! Just kidding, luv ya man.

All I can say about C7 Corvette still is nothing at all. I just sit and cry that this isn't ever going to be available in SA. Got to be impressed with Sutters and the oft-maligned-Autocar-crew-of-useless-motoring-hacks - that was a pretty darn impressive road impression. One handed opposite lock drift - showboating!

Believe me, I like the car. But all the black plastic bits make it too Transformer-ish in real life. Black and grey do a good job of hiding that.

The article talks about the Corvette and its manual gearbox: from one side his charm, now quite unique, on the other, a limit on track
"it's better don't dowshift in second gear, because it is too slow, but remain in third, though at low rpm"
full review on paper in late march

The italian article notes the excellent braking with the 1,2 g highlight when braking from 200 km/hr, and aslo the lack of brake fade. The lap was almost the same as a 458, surprinsing everyone and leaving the direct competitors well behind.
On the down side, the car isn't as willing to change direction on wet surface, the ESP comes too late and didn't fully recover the trajectory.
