Z Series [Official] BMW Z4 (G29)

The BMW Z models are a line of roadsters manufactured by German automaker BMW. The Z stands for Zukunft (German for future), and has been produced in four different series with six generations consisting of roadster, coupé, sports car, and concept variants. The introduction of the M Coupé and M Roadster in the Z3 line marked the first of the Z series to have a high-performance BMW M variant. The first generation Z4 also continued to offer M Coupé and M Roadster variants. The current Z4 (G29) uses BMW's (B58B30) inline-six, its platform is the basis for the current Toyota Supra.

"Only in the cost chapter does the BMW Z4 start to overtake and take the lead. Well deserved, because the modern roadster not only makes driving a pleasure, but also wins this comparison with a very successful compromise between fun and reason. When it comes to driving dynamics in this class, there is no getting around the Porsche 718 Cayman. The mid-engine athlete remains an exceptional talent that seems almost underwhelmed with its 300 hp. The Cayman would also do well with twice the power – second place. The likeable Toyota GR Supra loses, but very respectably. What makes the Japanese so special is its mature and proven technology."

Did they negotiate with Toyota to deliver the M3/M4 engine that was not in the papers in exchange for the Supra's manual transmission? Just a random idea

I believe the manual transmission came later after the cars intial production, the Toyota Supra that is. It wasn't planned in pre production from the start.

BMW as you know will probably of put it through their own rigorous testing procedures too, I'd gesture. So it took time.

I didn't understand the first, about the second it seems that exhaustively, according to what I read, it looked better than the one on the Supra, which they said was very good.

Did BMW launch an LCI for the Z4 yet? I dont recall seeing this as the car already has been on the market since 2018. I must say I have grown to like this car, it looks stunning on the road and much nicer IRL than in pics or videos.

It says LCI in the title. So I think so? Maybe @dalab can correct us? Afterall he is BMW'S most fervent acolyte!

It’s a looker in real life. A pity they didn’t do a Z4 Coupe. The Supra looks just stupid.
