Merc1, when it is a BMW, it is ok to use the same platform for two generations? Funny how you didn't notice it had the same front and door windows as the E70.

Not sure what your issue is, but I'm not the one that harps constantly about platforms. Only when an issue is made out of it do I say anything. I really don't care long as the car is up to date.

Within BMW sure its fine, you wouldn't know the difference anyway now would you? I assume you have this on good authority that the new X5 is based on the same chassis as before right?

Secondly you really don't know much about how this works. As I said to you in another thread, car companies rarely re-design a car from the ground up every 5-7 years, most of the time the platform is carry over, at least for 2 generations, if not 3, but with heavy updates.

Funny how I didn't notice the windows because I don't care, the vehicle presented is fresh enough to make what you're talking about matterless.

Now that you've mentioned it, Martinbo does have a slight resemblence to Herr Schumacher.
