X5 [Official] BMW X5 (F15)

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
This angle shows it off best, they not only reduced the rake on the rear window but they ballooned the metal work above the rear lights and the only logical reason I see for this is to increase 3rd row seating headroom. I commend them for getting a 3 row in without increasing the overall wheelbase but I agree with Klier that since it appears nothing other than the boot door is effected why not offer this as part of the 7 seater option and retain it's sleeker looks.

P.S.
Apart from that small failing IMO I am very please with how it looks and this wouldn't stop me considering one in the future.

Precisely my thoughts when Palbay showed two different shots with varying slopes a while back- I felt the more uprightness was to accommodate a better third row configuration and luggage space as well.

In my opinnion this is an optical illusion. In the first car the camouflage tape is taped on the window, but in the second photo it is taped on the upper rear spoiler casting a different kind of shaddow.

It is hard to say it is an optical illusion when you consider all three with rears that are captured in that shot. Based on that premise the third one(the one behind the 5 GT) ought to have the steeper angle(less vertical) from the one behind.
I find it hard to credit that entirely on the masking tape.

Maybe a stupid question: when I want to copy a link of x bimmers.com in this forum the link get a germancarforum-address. Why this? Is x bimmers a part of GCF?

Anyone know when multi-functional instrument panel will be available?

That's hot!!

I really need to see this car irl fast, because it's great in some pics and quite bad in others...
Overall though, I think the new Range Rover is the best looking SUV on the market. That car is off the charts good looking.

Btw, all the text on the rear looks bad. X5M50d. Overkill.

X5 kills the oversize/blown-up Evoque in my books, I mean it's just THE face of all SUV's out there (you pommy lover:D:p)

X5M50d...mmm for such grunt you must not be mistaken what you are dealing with:cool:

The 2014 BMW X5 is newly refreshed, but it doesn't look remarkably different than the outgoing X5. The revamped lines of the three-row sports activity vehicle [BMW's term, not mine] have been softened a bit, and it looks smaller. The current design language has taken some of the aggression out of the car, while also managing to make it look more expensive. Without seeing them side-by-side, you would be forgiven for thinking you're looking at something the size of the X3. The interior has garnered more attention than the exterior. The dash has been moved forward and slanted away from occupants, allowing for a more airy cabin. The dash now sits over your shoes rather than your knees. The second and third rows feel tight, but keep in mind the X5 is 10 inches shorter than a Mercedes GL. The materials and workmanship are top-notch and BMW's efforts at making the cabin quieter have certainly paid off. The premium sound system in our test vehicles didn't have to work very hard to be heard over the minimal road and wind noise.

I wondered about that and concluded it was just the angle. You are probably correct klier but why would they do that?

My dear friend, you have to admit that RR is one good looking machine- and I am not a fan of RR.

Probably slipped into the real F15 file by accident. It's not the angle, it's a chop. A f'ed up chop no less.

The Range Rover, NOT the Sport or Evoque, is the best looking SUV period....and I am not a fan either, far from it in fact.
