X1 is the practical and nicer riding alternative but the X2 is the sportier and nicer looking alternative. You sacrifice comfort for style. They comparing the X2 to the other cars because it’s newer. I don’t really think the X2 has a direct competitor as yet.

I'm aware of that. I was replying to your comment that the next 1-Series will drive well because the X2. That might not be a good generalisation as regardless of how firm the suspension is. An sDrive X2 or FWD 1-Series won't drive as nicely as an RWD BMW or even xDrive one.

Wasn’t replying to you was just making a general comment. Of course the 1er won’t drive as nicely as RWD because of the different drivetrain, how it will drive remains to be seem, but what I’ve seen from the X1 and X2 ..and (mini) thus far bodes well for the new 1er. I would not bet against it being one of the best driving FWD/AWD out there .

Absolutely. Most hatchbacks and affordable crossovers have part time AWD that only engage the rear when the front lose grip. If the new 1-Series has rear-bias AWD it will be a charmer.

I wonder what the LCI will be like for the X2. The X7, Z4 and 3-Series shed light on just how ancient the X2 interior looks for a car that has debuted in 2018. Even the 1-Series and F30 interiors look more aspirational.

Sure the X5 but an X2 20i xDrive is more than half the price of an X5, so not cheap by any measure.

The 1 series just needs to be a squashed version of the X2 and it will be a looker. The X2 is a really attractive looking car .

Seems my father is replacing his X1 with a X2.
2 liters, Awd , Mizano blue, 20 wheels and tons of more.

BMW X2 M35i Conclusion

Two features stand out in the new X2 M35i. On the one hand, in its series of models is the absolute exception: all other engines do not even come close to their performance. On the other hand, driving modes lead to significantly different characters. The sports heater receives as much as the docile domesticated driver of the city, what he wants. At the push of a button, a completely different world of locomotion opens up. Almost nobody can be disappointed with the top X2. However, the SUV is rather something for those who, therefore, drive a car because they would like to feel some momentum.
