X2 [Official] BMW X2 (F39)

The BMW X2 is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW since 2017. It is marketed as a sports activity coupé (SAC), it is considered a sportier and less practical alternative to the X1, as is the case with other even-numbered X models with its respective counterparts.
Saw the car today looks great love the wheels as well, a bit pricy though but it does come with some nice standard features. The design direction BMW is taking is leaves me hopeful for what is to come.

I saw 1 today for the first time, in basic trim. Aww i don’t think this will grow on me. I know now why they put the emblems on the sides, it could be just anything but BMW. Weird feeling like with the Q2.

I’ve never liked any chromed our cars, but on this one .......Make the 1 series a mini version of the X2 BMW and you’ll have a winner.

From the start of the rear doors to the very rear, there are alluring sculpturing and details that make me very excited about what’s to come from BMW.

^ the hood shutline is a crime though. MB levels of poor implementation.

That and the relatively poor interior are the only downsides for me, I think it’s a great looking thingy for the rest. Ridiculous pricing though for what you get ( a rebadged MINI)

What incarnation ...+800k for an X2 when you can have a new X3 for around the same price ...the X2 looks stunning but it’s not worth that much dosh. You’d have to be a absolute sucker to pay this much for one.

Yap, BMW pricing policy is very ambitious.

A bit too amabitious IMHO. No wonder MB is having greater sales success lately. You definitely get more for the money (in sense of prestige, looks, perceived quality etc). For such a pricing BMW should ante up the game and offer more compelling products. At least making some features standard ...

I must admit BMW's are just getting too pricey for what they are offering. Sorry. And (too bland & not upscale enough) styling doesn't help either. The design lacks instant impression of luxury & prestige. It's not the overall styling but the details that are missing. Eg. Audi, Jaguar, Porsche, Lexus, MB etc are able to make their cars look much more upscale at first impression. BMW was able to do that till E46, E39 ... but unfortunately not today anymore.

When I seat in an UKL platform car I don't get the feeling of seating in a BMW. The lack of gearbox next to the driver may give more room but you don't feel integrated in the car like in the real BMWs. It also makes the central console much taller, which doesn't help either. And when you compare this cockpit to the one in the new MB A class, it just feels so outdated.

Not the best of reviews from my favourite car reviewer at the moment. Seems like BMW sacrificed a lot of Comfort for sportiness which is weird because in newer BMW’s theyve found the best compromise between the two. Part of the reason the X1 has been doing so well. Still think it looks great though.

Does it come with a pack of BMW branded teeth guards?

Holy f*uck! The suspension is so stiff that the image stabilisation of his camera couldn't record smooth footage during the test drive.

RIP to the vertebrates of those who order this with M-Suspension and 20 inch alloys without test driving.

People might as well get the 1 series, the X2 has such a low ride height it might as well be a normal hatchback.

Today I had a close encounter with an X2 that was on display in a shopping mall.

From the rear and rear 3/4 view, it's utterly gorgeous. No other BMW is as alluring from those angles.

Other than that, it lacks strong selling points. My biggest takeaway is that it's not an SUV but a crossover trying to create a niche.

Seat height is only marginally taller than in a normal car and you sit sunken down in the car. If you seek improved visibility or a commanding view, this is not the right car. As expected the centre console and speedometer look 5 years old. I can't believe the interior will look like this until year 2025 when the 2nd generation X2 debut.

To sum up, I don't know why this car cost more than the X1. It should be cheaper. While it handles well, it's at a considerable expense of comfort. A 1-Series is a better option as a practical and fun to drive car, however it's not sold in the US and in other regions an entry level BMW isn't aspirational enough for some customers.

Thankfully there is choice and I expect the closely priced X1 and X3 to sell better.
