M6 [Official] BMW M6 (F12/13)

The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand from 1983 to 2019 (with a hiatus from 1990 to 2004). Introduced in the coupe body style, the M6 was also built in convertible and fastback sedan ('Gran Coupe') body styles for later generations. An M6 model was built for each of the first three generations of the 6 Series. Production of the M6 ended in 2019 and it was replaced by the BMW M8 (F91/F92/F93) in 2019. Official website: BMW M
I'm really going to see what the actual price difference will be, the actual bottom line between the M5 and M6 when I go to the dealer next Monday to actually place the order. If the difference between them is within a certain range, I may just get an M6. I love the interior of the M6.

There should be nothing wrong with the higher price tag of the M6. So many prefere the more expensive M3 Coupé over the M3 Sedan, while having four doors the sedan is more practical. I don't understand why about the M6 many think it is overpriced. Its interior alone is worht the higher price, not to talk about the more aggressive exterior and the slightly better performance and handling.

I kindly asked for a simple thing. To stay on topic. And ot feels like I am threating kindergarten kids with not giving them ice-cream and then they throw their toys at me. Why don't you grow up people? Why don't you just report the posts that are bugging you, or just take it to PM level?

The mods are not blind.

Without mentioning from whom the above quote is, I'll say one thing:

We are not blind. We are tolerant. It seems that some people are not happy with this and want to see the moderation policy go the other way around, to completely intorelant. Are those members sure they want this?

I hope I won't need again to ask to stay on topic.

God no! Without anyone in specific, I think the mods are already too intolerant sometimes....

I must admit the addition of CF trim lifts the interior from appearing more luxury bias toward something decidedly sportier. I still can't get my head round why BMW don't offer it at a more affordable price like what Audi do.

Don't know what you're talking about. BMW has been offering CF trim (Performance parts) for the 3-series for years.

What a car! .... What... a.... car!!

Brings me back to the days when I was completely mesmorized by the E39 M5!

The time I priced it for the M3 is was a ridicious price, has this changed?

As far as I have seen, CF trim inside a car is highly expensive on pretty much every respectable brand...
For instance, in my country, the CF interior trim inside an SLS AMG is €9500...you can buy a VW Polo for that money, here.

My CF trim on the S4 was very respectable £250. Now whether it's either the real deal or the very highest of quality I couldn't answer that but what was provided did look the part which is exactly what one wants from their interiors.

OMG Sunny I do love it, but a M6 Cabrio done up like that is a small fortune!

^^ yeah, that must be like 20k more expensive than M5....

Hmm, it looks like CF trim in the RS5 is standard equipment. But then again, there's very little CF inside an RS5....but still....

^Based on these photos of the M6 I don't think it has any more CF trim than my S4 had. But like I said earlier it enhances the overall interior and gives it a sportier edge which is welcome.

Agreed, black package like the CF trim gives the car a sportier edge and really suits the dark paintwork.

agreed as well, am getting the chrome window trim on the 6 wrapped in vinyl for the shadowline look..with some tints should look pretty bad a in carbon black

Examples of the BMW M6 , BMW M5 and BMW X6M on show in Beijing were all finished by BMW Individual. The BMW X5M stayed in traditional M colors. The BMW M5 and BMW X6M will be in place for public visitors.

That black grille looks perfect on the M6, btw!

What do you guys think?

I disagree. The blacked-out grilles and carbon-fiber aero add-ons (such as CF rear spoiler and CF front lip inserts) look good on a car like the M3 or even 1M, ...but this is an M6. I think it still needs to maintain a certain aura of luxury. The sumptuous interior design, detailing and trim combination reflects this IMO.

Also, from a design perspective, the chrome outline of the kidneys work well with the design of the full-LED headlight units and how they create very defined shape outlines.

Any finally, it doesn't make the M6 badge in the grille seem like a lame afterthought. :)

I think these screen captures from the M6 promo video best show what I mean (because it takes away any fancy autoshow lighting or photoshop enhancements):

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
