Yes it’s possible “ I found for 2500 euros both lights fully equipped, it can be done, only plug and play, and activate from bord computer but you have to buy the lights from bmw if you don t want to lose the warranty and they charge me 6000E. Doesn t worth this money.“

Go to the X5 subsection on Bimmerpost-laser lights retrofit heading for more information.

Intersting headlight graphic. Need more rear pics to confirm, but looks like the rear lights are similar to the 7er's and 3er's, but there's a bit of a "lobster claw" look whereas the 3er and 7er are more like hockey sticks.

Posters on another forum say the 2020 M5 can now be ordered with new laser headlights and the LiveCockpit from the 8-series.

What's the deal?

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
