M2 [Official] BMW M2 Competition

The BMW M2 is a high-performance version of the BMW 2 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. As the 2 Series replaced the 1 Series coupé and convertible models, the first-generation M2 was marketed as the most basic M model in the range. Official website: BMW M
sat in the M2 comp in a dealer recently. as soon as I shut the door it gave me goose bumps, memories of my E46 CSL.

but less carbon. that stripped out feeling, like stuff is only in the car if you need it to drive. I liked it, my wife hated it.

my spine wouldn't thank me for it but for a couple of seconds I felt like I was in my 20s/early 30s again and could see myself driving it.

huge mirrors !

Assuming your sold your CSL, don’t you regret selling it?

not at all, that was 11 years ago, life is not all about wishing you had something worth lots of money based on hindsight.

I miss the feel and drive of the car, it was outstanding. but life moves on.

You are one lucky guy to have owned that car and I’m glad you enjoyed the car for what it was without thinking of making a profit.

Yes indeed it is. We’re 10 minutes away and it’s our closest one!

Had it in my mind you were from up North.

I am. Leeds. But I haven't lived there permanently since I was 18. My permanent residence for the last 18 years has been Maastricht in the Netherlands, but when I met my fiance two years ago, she was living in Woking. She has since moved to live with me in Holland, but we maintain a flat in Woking for when we're back in the UK seeing friends and family. We're going there on Tuesday for a couple of days. I'll certainly keep a look out for your car! I'll be in a white F30 3 Series on Dutch plates.

I'm originally from Nottingham and moved down here over 25 years ago. We live in Woking, my wife is from the area. Small world.

Will keep an eye out for you! ;)

That E46 CSL. It's the embodiment of timelessness. I'm such a d!ckhead for not buying a barely used, cut-price one when I had the chance. Massive regrets.

Although not a CSL but there is someone with M3 E46 phoenix yellow where I live. Only used spring/summer. It's in mint condition.

I could never have afforded the CSL but do kick myself for getting my E91 330D M Sport Touring over an M3 CS :(

And don't get me started about selling my 1M

No lie, the CSL I saw all those years back - in 2008 I recall - was going at 60% of the exorbitant launch price. Make no mistake it was a massive stretch but, still do-able. Might've resulted in a divorce but who knows...

Sorry about the 1M having to go but, c'mon, your M2 is still mighty special - despite the "move" BMW pulled with the Competition.

I’m originally from Nottingham too! (West Bridgford) - currently in dubai

I surmise that, like its F8x CS counterparts, the M2 CS is going to be considerably more expensive and similarly subject to the law of diminishing returns over the M2 Competition. Pity, because it'll look fantastic too.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
