3 Series (F30) [Official] BMW F30 3-Series LCI [2015-2019]

The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series consists of the F30 (sedan version), F31 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring'), and F34 (fastback version, marketed as 'Gran Turismo') compact executive cars. A long-wheelbase sedan version (model code F35) was sold in China. For this generation, the coupé and convertible models were spun off to create the new BMW 4 Series nameplate. It was succeeded by the G20 3 Series, and the G26 4 Series Gran Coupé (F34). Production: October 2011 – October 2018
Surprised they don't use the white light bulbs (with similar looking light to xenons) on the halogen light models.

Legal issue in many countries I believe? Might be wrong though. Plus it would make less people opt for xenons or leds, I'd assume.

Anyway, over here, xenons have been part of a business package on most models, costing a few hundred euros, getting you other necessities like leather steering wheels as well. Will be interesting to see how much more the package costs with Leds instead, or if they won't include better lights this time around.

Xenons don't have to be expensive because they aren't all that really. But when you're looking to maximise profit from your optional extras it's quite easy to make Xenons look expensive based on the selling price.

My Forester has Xenons as standard. They should at least be so with the selection of a Line package leaving LEDs as the additional cost option. I can't bear to think about the additional cost of LEDs over Xenons still nor am I prepared to buy a luxury compact sedan with halogens. Pretty simple stuff really.

Yeah I do understand your concern. Feels weird that only the two are options, especially when you look at the price of optional Led headlights on current models. Bit like offering just drum and ceramic brakes and leaving out "normal" disc brakes.

I have no problem in halogens being offered on base models though. Not all people need the extra lighting power, and they don't look that bad either IMO.

Extra lighting power is a matter of safety, not looks or luxury.
The best possible lighting option should be either standard or affordable. At least, with a base price of over 30k offering halogens as standard is a joke.

I don't see BMW or any other manufacturer offering solid disk brakes in the front and drum brakes at the rear as standard, while ventilated disk brakes all around being an option. Neither are ABS and ESP. Why should better lights?

According to a swedish car magazine there is a M3 Touring coming. To be presented in Frankfurt as a concept. Apparently there is a demand for powerful wagons in Australia. Do not ask me why.

Hi,

Do anyone know why F30/31 LCI are 35 - 40kg heavier than the pre LCI version? It is not due to more equipment and the new B-engine family are lighter than the old ones......

There are some difference

U.S. 2016 M3 / M4 LCI New Standard Equipment and Changes (Sakhir Orange returns!)

The MY2016 M3 Sedan (F80) starts production in July 2015, and receives a majority of the F30 interior Lifecycle Impulse (LCI) measures.

Standard equipment and pricing have changed versus MY15, as the following optional equipment is now standard for MY16:
• Comfort Access Keyless Entry (322)
• Satellite Radio with 1-year subscription (655)
• Harman Kardon Surround Sound System (688)

I am happy to report that from the same source as I posted above, Sakhir Orange Metallic (B50) will make a return and be available as well

LCI Changes: Exterior
• New Rear LED Tail Lights in L-Shape
• The Lighting Package is still available for LED headlights, so LED's are NOT standard like they are on the 340i
• The only Individual colors I see is Smoked Topaz, Champagne Quartz, Azurite Black and Tanzanite Blue

LCI Changes: Interior
• Chrome Accents surrounding the Front and Rear Air vents
• Chrome Accent near buttons for electric windows
• Improved Navigation Unit: new hardware, better performance, faster start-up of navigation and Voice Command, navigation map update over the air, more realistic presentation of city details
• Door accents according to trim accent (similar to 3 Series GT and 4-Series Models)
• Improved Child Seat handling
• Center-stack changes:
• Pearlescent chrome applications for radio/climate control
• Revised Automatic climate control display: white (vs. orange)
• Ambient lighting surrounding the center-stack

Maybe they just get more realistic, and slip in the real weight and hope no one notices. Everyone are interested of the weights when a new model comes out, but think the FL weighs the same as Pre-FL so they don't check it then.

More standard equipment is possible, but a 40kg weight incretion would require quite so many options...
