5 Series (F10) [Official] BMW F11 5 Series Touring

The BMW F10 is the sixth generation of the BMW 5 Series, manufactured for model years 2010–2017. Body styles: 4-door sedan/saloon (F10), 5-door estate/wagon (F11), 5-door fastback (F07), marketed as "Gran Turismo", and 4-door long wheelbase sedan (F18), sold only in China and the Middle East. Production: 2010–2017
I think I have read that too. Not that the cars are comparable in any way. It would have been more logical to replace the sedan with the GT...

LOL no way, that would have been a suicide for BMW. :D The sales for wagons is very marginal in the US. I wouldn't be surprised if the E61 accounted for much less than 10 percent of US 5er sales.

^^ usually, I don't gravitate to lighter colors, but that jade green is the tops. Even though I'd go with the blue followed by the Sophiso gray, I wish that BMW would also introduce an olive green paint to the palette.

Yesterday I sat in a 5er sedan F10 and right after that in a 5er GT F07.
GT has so much more interior room, it is not even funny. The back passengers in particular; they have more space than in a SWB 7er, easy.
My point? Here in Europe at least, GT, sedan and Touring compliment eachother perfectly fine. Sedan is for people who drive alone most of the time and want the best ride. GT is for family trips/business and the Touring has the most room to transport stuff with.

Klier, how would you rate the rear seat legroom vs. the E-class and A6?

It will never be one of BMW's strong points, that's for sure. When I put the driver seat in a comfortable positon there really isn't a lot of legroom in the back...It's ok, but nothing spectacular. 5er GT is much better in that aspect, makes the sedan feel cramped.
The W212 I think has a bit more space in the back, and the A6 I don't care about :)

W212 vs F10 is more or less the same, maybe a bit more on the Merc. But what is noticiable it that the bancket is much larger on the 5er tha on the E.

Bancket?

I ask about the W212 and A6 because those are the only standards I can really compare it to. If it's comparable to the W212, then that's all I need, and the Touring would make more sense to me. Alas, it's not coming to the States.

I ain´t know the translation form the spnish, I meant the part of the seat where you put you bottom :D.

Sorry dude, for the A6 I just don't know because it has been years for me since I sat in one, but I remember it being a lot bigger than the previous 5er.
The W212 and F10 are more than comparable; we're talking about maybe a centimenter more or less in either car. It's pretty much the same I would say, with the photofinish won by MB...
If E60 5er was enough: F10 is even more :)

Haha, no worries, I get what you're saying now, the actual seat.

Klier, that sounds like more than enough. I found the E60 a bit tight in the back, but if it's comparable to the A6, then I really can't find no fault to this car. The F10 sounds like it'd perfect for me. The only thing missing is the means to getting it.

Hello,

Anyone knows if the Kit-M will be available in F10 and F11 in autumn or even before?

I'm anxious to see both with body parts exposed  :D

Pics? :eusa_thin

Many regards to this amazing community. ;)

How lucky you EU's are! We will probably have to wait until the first quarter of 2011 to see the F10 in real life:t-banghea

Did you take some pics Klier?
