i can see the designers tried to draw inspirations from the past for the vertical bar grill, however it doesn't work when you combine the cross hatch grill with the vertical bar as one piece. Also I dislike the new front bumper, the horizontal line interrupts the vertical line flowing down from the front quarter panel.

I agree.

It's interesting though that that vertical bar grille was only used after Bentley was aquired by Rolls-Royce in the early 1930s. Up until then, Bentleys always used a mesh grille.

My problem with it is the overall shape of it. The Traditional Bentley grille is quite distinctive; this new grille could easily be mistaken as an aftermarket addition.

Overall I like it, but the grille is a little more characterless than before. The interior remains the most luxurious that you can buy IMO. The new seat backs facing the rear passengers are particularly nice and functional.

The interior is first class. Funny how everyone is doing the Maybach 62 reclining seats now.

I guess I'll get used to the facelifted exterior.

Something I find interesting with this facelift is the return of a conventional front bumper. The super-formed front fenders no longer extend to a low front bumper. This was one of the hallmark of the original Mulsanne.

Oops, I have a habit of misreading posts sometimes

However, the more prominent grille is more than likely Bentley's attempt at matching the imposing Rolls-Royce grille.

Now that I can agree with.

Klier ......now you know that comment is going to get you in trouble.
Betty will likely have a meltdown over it.

Oh give over. I read it over an hour ago, and whilst I thought it was in poor taste, I just ignored it, just like I ignore a lot of the childish stuff he writes. I didn't even rate his comment with a "dislike". I did this for the good of the forum. Yet you thought you would try and cause trouble anyway?

Slightly off topic but many, many years ago I knew someone who kept Piranhas until he awoke one morning to find out that one had devoured the rest of his tank mates. Because it was big and had the tendency to leap and no one else was interested in owning the voracious pet. He simply emptied the tank onto the concrete and let the Berlin Sun do the job. Even though it was on his last breaths it still managed to shred a seagull. It is now stuffed and in his house.

There is something about the FL that makes me like this car more than before, I do think that new front grill design is more imposing and makes the car seem wider than before. The interior use of lovely wood and luxurious leathers looks really rich and comfy. I can imagine falling asleep on that back seat with a newspaper on my lap.

Actually I was just having some fun Betty .....lighten up a little, you'll have a happier life :)

The new Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine was created by the company’s bespoke Mulliner division as a showcase of their skill.
The new, much longer Mulsannehas an extra meter of additional length and is 79mm taller than the normal model, featuring a unique rear cabin with four opposing seats.

The new British limo, which was created after a private commission, is also Bentley’s first car to feature electrochromic glass, allowing rear passengers to switch the interior division and rear-cabin window glass between clear and opaque at the touch of a button.

“The Mulsanne Grand Limousine showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of our in-house coachbuilder, Mulliner and exemplifies the way in which our experts consult with a customer to turn their vision into an extraordinary reality,” said Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors. “The attention to detail, quality, creativity and skill applied to every Mulliner commission is truly unique in the automotive world.”

One of the highlights of the rear cabin is the handcrafted wooden roof panel encasing three dials displaying UK and local time as well as exterior temperature.

A new climate system was developed especially for the new Mulsanne Limousine while the rear passengers will have at their disposal features like iPad charging and docking stations, as well as veneered fold-out tables, a bottle cooler with frosted glass and crystal flutes, and a soft drink cabinet with bespoke tumblers.

Bentley has reengineered the chassis, suspension, powertrain and transmission to match the Grand Limousine’s need to offer the ‘highest possible degree of passenger comfort and safety in the longest ultra-luxury sedan in the world.’

Finished in two-tone Silver Frost and Moroccan Blue, the Mulsanne Grand Limousine is wearing a set of unique 21in wheels, color-matched to the paint job.

The new Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine is exhibited next to the updated Mulsanne family at the Geneva Motor Show.
