Mulsanne [Official] Bentley Mulsanne

As predicted ... A nice CAR from VAG Group. But is this enough in this segment?

Specifications anyone? Dimensions, engine, performance etc?

Interior pics ... ???

ofcourse but this seems more driver oriented .. looks sportier (lower roofline and massive wheels to emphasize sportiness).

Well, the sale numbers will show this…but I think it will definitely sell…

Depends on price. If positioned as high as Phantom - it won't.

The car looks OK (except the front lights) - but if anything as big as predicted: it will look quite chunky IRL.

Also: it indeed looks like a FLed "Brooklands sedan" ...

So ... as a drivers car ... what to choose: Mulsanne, or Ghost. ;)

Similar performance, one car is cheaper, the other brand is more prestigious. Though choice.

Yes right Eni, tough choice. But If both are nice to drive and money is no issue (of course at this segment), I'd go with the Mulsanne: More daring design yet prestigous and very bentley .. the RR looks a bit less british more 80's american automobile.

Hm ... Yes. True.

But calling Bentley design more daring than RR --- :t-hands::t-hands::t-hands:

RR could hardly be more daring & radical.

As said: Mullsane design elements don't look much different from Brooklands design elements. Only modernized.
I can't see anything radical & daring in that - except the new headlight graphics with "LED holes".

But ... I'm sure many will prefer a trd more conservative & understated Bentley design over modern & flashy RR designs. So, plenty of choices.

Ghost and Mulsanne are not even competitors. The Ghost, although a fraction more expensive, is more of a Continental GT while the Mulsanne rival the Maybach and Phantom. VAG have closed the chapter of the Arnage which is from an era before VAG was what it is today, hence the change of name.

We've already seen photographs of Mulsanne test mules using Arnage bodies extended substantial with a SWB and LWB in development. VAG has enjoyed major success with the CGT family and have likely not spared any effort or money and making sure that this car is as best as it could be.

Sportiness is relative in this segment. The weight of the car will be well over 2,000kg and will not be nimble as a Ghost which is more of a reskinned F01. Many will appreciate this car, the subtleness in particular. Although the Phantom is well respected the grandiose presence is overwhelming for some people who prefer to be more private and enjoy a royal experience without shouting about it. Colour options, customisation and the buying experience will be beyond dreams.

I must admit, this is great. It completely kicks the Flying Spur's ass. I even like the front, I think it's done quite tastefully.

Given that the standard rims are 21 inches with 22s as optional, the size of the car is close to neck and neck with the Phantom.

Looks really nice, but there something about the front light arrangement that doesn't look to appealing (almost like aftermarket pimp my ride head lights). Love the porfile of the car.

A little bit of the Continental in there and the headlight size/positioning will take about 5 mins to get used too, but other than that I think Bentley has done the impossible....created a car worthy of the Arnage's spot. Now we need to see the interior.

The comments are hilarious. Rolls-Royce design is now radical? The new Mulsanne is a Brooklands sedan? What jokes.

Looks like to me this Bentley makes Rollers look dull and stuffy as hell.

The rear end is the only thing I find completely odd mainly due to the numberplate position.

Interior shots ?

I prefer the more formal lines of the Brooklands. VAG have excessively used round contours here and in the process depriving the car from a authoritative appearance. There seem to be some element of the soft and mudane Continental GT in there. And it annoys me.

Oh hell yeah..thats hot. New segment leader, Rolls and Maybach can forget about it. Maybach is just about finished now.

Current Phantom owners were approached by clinics that were representing the Mulsanne and they came back to us with a representation of the car but some were not impressed.

I like it more because of the original photograph in black you could not see and interpret the sculpture at the front of the car all you could see was the two lights. Now that it is much clearer you can see the lines that pronounce the design better.

As for who comes out on top? Well a Rolls-Royce appeals to a different type of customer as does a Bentley so they both appeal to certain customers as is certain Bentley customers who do not like a Rolls-Royce because of BMW ownership and Rolls-Royce customers who interpret Bentley as a rebodied VW Phaeton. A Trivial argument I agree but this happens.

But both Bentley and Rolls-Royce are now out to weather the storm in each respective segment , The Phantom is a success and the Ghost with it's 2010 units all accounted for is heading for the same status.
Bentley will be moving to offer an alternative to the Phantom and Rolls-Royce moving to capture migrating Continental Customers with the Ghost and then it's extended family.

Pales in comparison to Maybach I doubt that "Timbaland has one" an actual Maybach rep. quote. Is really the way to appeal to prospective older conservative customers who want the best.
