Mulsanne [Official] Bentley Mulsanne

Having stared at the live shots by autoblog I cannot force myself into loving the exterior -- I want to, but I can. The car is not ugly and neither is it beautiful. All it has done for me so far is;

1. The Continental GT is still the ugly duckling.
2. The Brooklands is a master piece.

My query is the exaggeratedly raised bonnet which makes the car look like a hearse or London cab. And then there is too many plane surfaces on the sides of the car, the doors and rear flanks in particular -- and it's a receipt for disaster. Large sedans, especially those with round shapes tend not to age well if large surfaces are left undecorated. The Brooklands is a jewel and the Mulsanne has not succeeded in making the Brooklands look dated.

Just look at the photo below, the car is bloody flawless.

Wow. :eusa_clap

After those spypics from Car Mag I was greatly disappointed with the front, but now looking at it as a whole, this car is amazing. Since Bentley has a level of prestige is on par with RR, I think it'll give it a run for its money just based on the exterior. I'm looking forward to seeing the interior, if it's bespoke without any VW bits and pieces, then this might be my new favorite ultra-limo.

The road presence this beast is going to have..... Insane.

Loving the departure of the traditional headlamps now. Time to move on!

I've been completely won over, at first i was thinking that the front was the weak point but know i can definitely say that the rear is the weak point of the whole design. It literally looks like it's come off another car, it just looks like its been added on like the E65, if it wasn't for that it would be a 10/10 from me. Good Try VAG

That's how a Bentley flagship should look like in 2010. Well done VAG!!!

The car definitely looks massive. The upfront pics don't portrait well the 3D look they were going for, but definitely a segment shaker.

Stunned and sold to it.

Unfortunately, I'm disappointed. The front is ungainly. The side is non-descript, especially with the inconsistant shadow black trim and chrome treatment to the A, B, and C Pillars. Obviously, my expecations were lower with the factory reveal, but the headlights are just as awkward from every angle as I had feared. Hopefully the interior will impress, and will be an extreme departure from the norm. Otherwise, Bentley might find themselves as the "also-ran" to the Phantom, despite being five or six years newer at the reveal. Very blah, which is always too bad, especially in this segment.

Looks like interior shots in the background - arrrggghhh…and first glance at 5:28 :D …so the first Mulsanne with chassis number 1 was auctioned for 500.000 $

Interior will definitely be stunning… …well, loved the old Arnage one without the shown Satnav-screen though.

If I am to give an adjective to the front emotion of the car, it's stupid... like those cartoons where a guy got punched and then the eyes went crazy. But then, being special and perhaps "abnormal" is what stands it out from affordable brands.

So first interior shot - not the best quality though, but it shows what we all want to see. Steering wheels looks a bit like the one of the Jag XJ! :D

Well, a lot of wood etc and it looks like the nav screen in the middle (shown in the vid above at 5:28) can be hide behind a wooden flap like in the RR Phantom. Only thing to criticise at the moment - the door panel doesn't look as appealing as the one of the Arnage!

Oh yeah that seals it right there for me, that interior looks pure Bentley. WOW. I can't believe it, but they did it...created a car worth of succeding the Arnage.

The Mulsanne looks like it is a fair bit larger than the outgoing Arnage and probably weigh close to 3 tonnes on the kerb.

I had hoped the Mulsanne would take a big leap on the dynamics department. But it doesn't seem to happen.........................

I need to see more of the interior. From htat first pic, it doesn't look distinctive enough (plain center tunnel...), but the first pics of the exterior were deceptive too, so...

The Bentley is pure ugly. Not near as stately or as in your face as a Phantom nor as sleek as the Ghost.

:t-banghea UGLY!....Luckely there is still the Continetal GT, now that's a Bently!
