A5/S5/RS5 [Official] Audi RS5

Wow, feels like I bought a lemon...:(

I think the S5 you own is the better choice to make here :)

@martinbo: I don't see me going off topic. I commented on the car wich I drove myself and my comment wasn't speculations. I'm not comparing it. Saying you can buy better cars for this money is my opinion on this particular car.
Of course the M3 is it's main competitor and I must compaire the driving experience of the car with something relevant to it.
If this is a thread were we all have to bow for the RS5 than I understand your actions :t-cheers:

Don't worry.. all the chicks love the RS5..

They virtually have identical track times.. Besides If I wanted a track car I would get a GT2.

Haha don't care about the chicks, I love it the car haha. And chicks? Don't get me started. Gave one a lift on Sunday and she slammed my door against a pickup truck parked next to us. A little dent now on the edge of my passenger door.:t-banghea The truck had so many dents on it could not find where she hammered it.;)

Was referring to the crowd in here. Tough lot. Even when they know someone has spent hard earned money on the car, they still hammered the c**p out of it.

My point also. Not looking for a track car. Not comparing it to any other. I have driven the M3. On the road and track. I am not skilled enough for it. I am also not trying to shave off 0.002 seconds off the corner to get a better lap time. These test are always done on tracks. How often does one drive like that?

I like the look of the Audi A5 series...hence why I have moved slowly upwards-A5, S5, RS5. I especially like the blips the car makes when you change up and down gears.:t-cheers:

...and if you liked the A5, the RS5 must be the perfect car, right?

Don't let people get to you, most just say what they mean in a strictly theoretical sense. You shed the green and did so because you found what you were looking for, not because it might be 1,2 sec faster (or stepped down because it was slower) on a track in Farawayistan.

I would not say perfect as there are things I do not like on it but it will do:usa7uh:

Not really bothered about what they have said. Not everyone will like the same thing. Just was not ready for the level of hate for the car:D

Good decision ss5, the color and options u got sounds great... Plz dont forget to post some picture when u get the car

LOL.
You're trying too much, really. But you do have a point.

SS5, of course the RS5 is a fantastic car. One of the best cars there is. It's still German after all. Many happy miles to you.

Good klier, its nice to see that you can actually behave... :usa7uh:

Shit happens unfortunately and sad to say it probably won't be the last dent you receive, such are the pleasures of motoring. :t-cheers:

Again, shit happens unfortunately and sad to say this is the kind of behaviour we get from some members on car forums, especially as Audi and BMW are like oil and water, the two don't mix and nor do their fans. :eusa_doh:

Of all the cars I have owned in recent years it's the S5 that still pulls on my heart strings each and every time one drives pass, in my opinion it's one of Audi's best designs and the RS treatment only enhanced it's fine looks. :usa7uh:

Am sure. But two others were my fault, one was a bike riding into me. This is the first one where it is a chick's fault;)

It's ok. I am not that big of a cry baby haha. I just did not expect it. I understand maybe in the football forums cause the teams actually play against each other but cars? I have friends who own M3's and other BMW's and we park next to each other and eat and drink with each other and even go on holiday drives. No one ever said "my car is faster than yours. You wasted money on that" What tends to happen is one guy shows up with a new "whatever" and everyone else is really excited. BMW and Audi owners alike.:D

Yup. They stick a little more in it and that was good enough for me. The blips on the gear change I am looking forward to. My S5 is two years old so good time for a change and I got a very good deal on the S5 trade in so why not?:t-cheers:

Ok guys I am sorry if I came off as harsh on the RS5 or anyone acquiring the car in general. The car is a very nice car with a different approach to what a performance car can be. Chances are at 95% of the time you'd be the nicest looking and best performing car when stuck in traffic or just driving around yada yada yada. Yes most of these cars won't be tracked and if the opportunity does arise to "play" with any of the other cars it will be limited and shouldn't even be done on public roads. As much as people preach on here about driving fast or racing on the streets, 90% of us do. I frequently hit 120mph-130mph in my car. It's very wrong and irresponsible but I know when to do it. I have also raced a few cars on the freeway which is also wrong and irresponsible but we have all done it at one point or the other. If being civil on the streets is paramount, from this point of view, the RS5 has a better exterior and interior for day to day livability. I would still go check one out whenever it arrives at a dealership but I'm not taking the bait.

I also know a few cars will be modded and turned into absolute monsters worthy of more praise. More power to those who go that route. Me personally am not into modding. I like to buy them fast and leave it alone. Some tints and wheels and I'm good. Sometimes I wonder why buy these cars if they won't get tracked? Most are daily drivers and grocery getters. These companies spend millions of dollars and thousands of man hours developing these cars for 98% of the cars to pick up milk and go to the movies. I'll tell you why we buy them. It's for bragging rights and status symbols. It's human nature. Nothing wrong with that. If I could afford something more expensive than the M3 I'd probably be driving it. However people use their cars is none of my business anyway because they are paying for it and can do whatever they want with it. Again the RS5 is a nice car but not for me. We all have our different tastes, standards and needs. Some know for a fact that this is the car for them. Others are one the fence and will be shopping the competition. And there are those like me who know that it's not for them. Wherever you fall in those categories is fine.

People seriously have to take posts from me with a grain of salt. I love all German cars, and when I say the RS5 is a POS is I don't really mean it. Sounds extremely stupid and lame, but it is what it is and I don't feel like explaining :)

I appreciate your honest here but even knowing all of this it does still get under your skin when trying to have a valid and mature discussion.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
