A7/S7/RS7 Official: Audi A7

^ This from your Insider contacts I assume...

What I think: RS7 will come 4 years or so after M5, like it is always the case with RS models.

You dont need an insider to know the RS7 is coming much sooner than 4 years after the M5.

No, just a wild guess. :D

If like you say it will be 4 years after the M5 then you will have nothing to worry about now will you. :eusa_thin In any case I think you would have to be very native to believe Audi will leave it this long from now on, as all indications are suggesting that Audi intended to introduce the S and RS versions closer to the start than end of the model cycle and have more RS models in production at any one time.

P.S.
I'm guessing you'll see the next RS Audi at Frankfurt 2012 though with the Asia market becoming every increasingly important it might just be shown there.

Hey guys, I´ve seen a silver A7 with the S-Line pack next to Madrid´s Stock Exchange, and WOWWW, absolutely amazing, way better than the two CLS I´ve seen. Forumers who disliked the rear end of the car should seen it on the streets to make another judgement.

Purely in terms of visual impact, S-Line is an absolute must on the A7.

Audi was wise to present the A7 at the NAIAS and Geneva shows in S-Line guise (the silver cars with 20" RS6 segmented rims). The A7 was among the most frequently photographed cars of those respective auto shows.

I have seen it in the flesh, the rear is still terrible but the front is okay. If it wasn't for it's large hatch back profile it would look like Any other Audi.:usa7uh:

2012 Audi A7 to start at $59,250,* configurator live

The 2012 A7 five-door is drop-dead gorgeous and headed to an Audi dealer near you in the next month. Interested? You're going to have to shell out $59,250 (*$60,125 including $875 in destination charges) if you want to pick up the base Premium model. That puts the A7 right in the middle pricing-wise between the $45,200 A6 and the $78,050 A8.

Spending $60k on the coupe-like sedan will net you Audi's 310-horsepower, 3.0L TFSI V6 mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Also standard is Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system with a rear-biased 40/60 power split. Jump up to the Premium Plus model and you're looking at a base price of $62,810 ($63,685 with destination). The Plus variant adds Audi Connect plus MMI Navigation Plus with MMI Touch controls.

The top-of-the-line Prestige model starts at $65,580 ($66,455 with destination), which adds four-zone climate control, full-time LED headlamps, 12-way power front seats with ventilation and a Bose sound system. The A7 configurator, which is live on Audi's sales site, shows that the A7 can be optioned out to $80,000 or more with options like a $5,900 Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System, $1,500 20-inch Sport package and $5,800 innovation package that includes adaptive cruise control, night vision and blind spot protection. All models feature the supercharged 3.0-liter V6.

That's actually very reasonable pricing for a mid-size "4-Door Coupe" (I fking hate that term) in the Premium German segment I guess. The CLS will probably start at around $70-$80K (for the sole V8) I'm assuming?

I met a black A7 on the street yesterday but first it looked like a 4-door A5 Coupé until I spotted the rear.

That's my sentiment too. I've seen about 5 of them and to my disappointment the design doesn't improve on the A5 Sportback but is instead a downgrade in the looks department.

Definitely not my cup of tea as well. I don't think I'll give it much of a notice or care after my first several initial on road viewings of the car.

I just configured a Prestige with Ibis white paint, and 20" rims. The A7 is definitely "my cup of tea" freshly brewed, and piping hot.

Saw the A7 last weekend.

Interior - Back to the the quality feel expected of an Audi. The over the top styling is not to my taste and not very 'German' in feel. Very colour dependent and some of the combinations on the floor were of questionable taste.

Front - WIDE as! Typical Audi face. Attractive but a bit too expected otherwise.

Rear - Im still adjusting to it. Every single one in the dealership had the rear spoiler flipped up, which must be the salesmen trying to hide its droopy bum.

I saw one parked on the side of the road today, in dark blue with the 19inch wheels. The entire car looks dull, very uninspiring, but elegant nothing less.

Saw the A7 earlier tonight at the Dallas autoshow. WOW.....its looks really good. Its not a small car either. Pics to follow. I absolutely love the A8's interior, but the outside is a disaster. The new A6 is typical Audi, clean cut and safe. It looks like the old A6 with a new front and a new rear...the middle is the same as the previous car. The A7 would seem to be my favorite Audi 4-door at the moment. You really can't tell its a hatchback.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
