IMO the sign of a good design is when it looks like it's moving a speed when it's sitting still and that is how I feel about the A7.

I think that one of the things that I find so appealing about the A7 is its' resemblance (o.k.-admittedly a bit remote) to some of Italys' finest GT coupes of the late 1960s', early 1970s'. The FIAT Dino coupe, the Maserati Indy.

The A7 is almost compellingly Mediterranean.

Saw the A7 in real life the day before yesterday....

Worst looking Audi I have EVER seen. Absolutely horrible, sorry. Like an elephant sat on it or something. Only the front looks good, the rest is extremely unattractive. CLS all the way for me.

I saw it IRL.

It really looks nice, only thing is that shutlines-party at the back, but overall it's sleek, sporty and elegant. Very classy and modern. Front is very flat, rounded and nice, side is stunning, back is good but the rearlights/bumper shutline are a but sad.

I couldn't sit in it, it was locked. But from what I saw, the interior is far from impressive. Bling and shiny, but little imagination, and some plastic bits in the low part of the interior and the heater for the back are looking quite shiny... Some parts look less than tightly built...

Overall, I liked the exterior a lot, the interior not so much. Like many recent Audis, I think the interior has become the real weakpoint (ex. the A4/A5, interior's really bland and VW-like in its built and finish)...

Quite surprising. I expected the contrary...

I'm wondering now that both VW and BMW have seen the light and finally listen to customer demands that their niche products (Passat CC and X6) needed 5 seats whether Audi will follow suit and make both the A5SB and A7 available in 5 seats soon?

Would certainly make them far more appealing to families that's for sure.

IMO the a7 is the most beautiful audi ever produced, for some reason the rear end does not bother me, it's sleek and unique, I just love the way the lines flow making it look aerodynamic, and the design makes sence unlike some other cars with lines that go nowhere, the cls design in general doesn't look better or worse, the only thing that I love about the cls over the a7 is the side profile in "photos" but anyways the A7 looks much better in person...

I love the A7... But still the cls 63 is a masterpeace... Let's wait and see what rs7 will look like...

I will, once again, be in the minority in this post but seriously this car is not beautiful at all. That rear back that becomes a hatch is hideous and, thought Audi does a good job of making it look good, in the end it still looks bad. I cannot understand how such a design surfaced and made it to production. The only thing I can think of is that they needed to find a way to differentiate this from the A6? It is somewhat like the 5 series Grand turismo, what is he use and point of the car?

I really do not understand the decision behind that hatchback type of thing. I love Audi designs, for the most part, and think they are great. This, to me, is not the best they could have done.

There is a difference, to me, between a hatchback type of car when it is a 2 door and when one is a 4 door. Regardless of proportions.

I just have difficulty understanding why Audi would implement the hatchback type of back on a 4 door sedan. Or, like some like to call it, a 4 door coupe.

My A4 had its annual MoT check today, and while I was waiting at the Audi Centre I had the chance to sit in an A7 and have a good look round it - the first such opportunity for me.

Firstly, the proportions and angles really do make more sense when you actually see the car properly, and I'm speaking as someone who liked the initial photos. Like a lot of modern Audis it looks far more striking in real life than it does in pictures.

What really grabbed me though was the standard of fit, finish and build quality - inside and out. The shut lines are spot on and the interior is out of this world (as is that of the new A8). Being an Audi I was of course expecting the A7 to be exemplary in these areas, but it really is something quite exceptional for a 'volume' car - definitely a notch or two above the CLS I'd say.

According to many previous reports in the German automotive press, the Audi S7 with the new 4.0 TSFI V8 was scheduled for presentation at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show.

It appears to be a no show !!

I wonder what the reason is for the cars' absence.

I haven't really followed so when is the RS7 expected to be launched? It will come sooner than the previous RS-models I assume?

As far as I'm aware the RS7 will appear within one year of the S7 and that the S7 is due to be shown late on this year.

What I think: RS7 will come 4 years or so after M5, like it is always the case with RS models.
