A7/S7/RS7 Official: Audi A7

That is what I said here. They should have given A8 this front end and they would have easily had the best looking car in the class. Instead they gave A8 the retarded front end and the A7 the retarded rear end and screwed both cars up.

That looks unbelievable!

I think I need to see the car on the road to really appreciate it. When I was up close with it at the Paris Auto show it didn't struck me as anything special because it looked more or less like the neighbouring A5 Sportback sharing the same floor space.

Not impressing me in that last pic. Looks "generic" for lack of a better word. Will be able to absorb the cars presence a bit in just a couple of days.

Saw it in real life today...I was impressed! Looked less hatchback and more sleek. I saw three in a row so I guess they were bringing them to a ride and drive or something. Looked great.

Does anything see a pattern here?

Everyone which see this car in the fresh are either mighty impressed by it's looks or blown away by it's looks. I am yet to hear a single person complain about it after seeing it for real.

It's one stylist looking car. :t-cheers:

The side profile L.A. Auto Show shot of the A7 certainly does not do this car justice. Excessive fish-eye effect, I reckon. In the metal, the side profiles' accentuation of svelte, low slung length is very apparent.

Here's a proper image of the A7 side on.

I WILL MAKE THE FINAL JUDGEMENT WHEN I SEE IT TOMORROW!!!! Hahaha. :D

Everyone who's seen it IRL certainly does seem to like it though.

I'm rooting for this car. With the CLS and M-B getting a little bit too funky with the line play, we need some balancing of the equilibrium. I just am very against Hatchbacks for upper end cars, but I don't have to buy it to like or even really really like it.

Not because I hate Audi or anything, but this here is genuinely horrible looking. Like, Fiat Multipla ugly.

I truly hope I'll like it better in life!!!

So ridiciulous, as always Klier.

Anyway I think we're all (well most of us) are going to end up liking this car the moment we see one on the road. It looks better than the A8 in just pictures alone IMO.

^Sorry, I saw all the three videos, and every time the rear comes into view, I throw up a little in my mouth. Especially the white one at three quarter angle - truly hideous - see the first video aroud 00:40 secs, uggh! After that I had to force myself to see the rest of the videos in the hopes that familiarity would breed some appreciation - but nope, I hate the rear even more now. The saddest part is I love the car's front end and the interior. I truly hope Audi does a shooting break version of this car.

Not need for apologies. Thank God that different folks have different tastes ! Otherwise, we'd all be driving around in Dacia Logans !

I would think that a shooting brake version of the A7 is very improbable as it already has a hatchback configuration. A traditional 2 door coupe + cabriolet version would be nice though. I recall reading what I thought was an arrogant assessment of larger 2 door coupes by one of Audis' designers (not Egger or Di Silva): old mens' cars. Well, I think that many would beg to differ. Mercedes-Benz CL, BMW 6 series, Maserati Gran Tourismo anyone ?

I really can't wait to see it in person.
In pics I feel it looks splendid in light colors (like silver, a color I usually don't like), while the dark ones like black are less impressive.

It looks very different (lower, wider) than the A5 SB, which I felt looks totally underwhelming and boring IRL. This A7, in pics, is something really special I find!

There is usually a San Francisco car show the week after the LA one. Hopefully the car will be there.

What stands between me and the A7 is the smaller sibling, the A5 Sportback. Everytime I spot one on the roads I'm awed by it's understated beauty, curvy lines and perfection proportion. In fact, I like it more than the Panamera and even new CLS. What impress me about it is the no-fuss nature of it's aesthetics -- it's not trying to be something but yet manages to make a very strong impression on me. Although similar, the A7 doesn't improve on the A5 Sportback design. The hunchback is a down grade and the front nose is a bit more sad looking.

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
