@martinbo has perfectly synthesised how I feel about the new A4. I'll only add that I'd like to see an opt out of the centre display screen should you opt for the digital speedo display. I quite like that the TT has done away with a central screen and hope this is merely a stop gap measure for the A4.

The TT is a drivers car and a very individualistic one, while the A4 is a family car where the driving needs to be inclusive and thus a centre display is a must for allowing fellow passengers to manage the nav, infotainment etc.

Interesting poll results it must be said. Quite an icy reception - tough crowd here...

Would've been moderately more clever if they had the B5 A4 as the "2000 Audi A4" and not two B6s.

Best looking one was the 2008 car. Since then, the design has gone worse. The front of the 2012 one is especially hideous.

I know I'm not a native speaker, but I advice you to re-read my post. My english can't be that bad, that what I've written is what you say it is: about the navsat screen not being retractable. I haven't mentioned that navsat screen with a word. It was quite clear I was talking about the HUD as a reaction to C4L's post after Busty brought it up. See my post nr. 78
I do indeed but the original point was about the info/nav screen not being retractable, Mick got confused and started talking about HUD's.

As far as I remember @Mick Briesgau did not bring up the HUD. I did because - as outlined above - HUDs are a massive load for dash construction. Retractable screens in a way also are and as a consequence, one of the technologies is gonna fade out. Guess which.

Ambient Lighting
It seems like the color of the ambient lighting around the door handle is in blue while the lighting below the dash is in yellow, so the ambient lighting can be selected by zones?

Your English is perfectly fine, Mick. At least to this non native speaker, too. The problem is once Kiwirob starts losing an argument, he starts running in circle.

By the way, dear and beloved Kiwirob, weren't the 7er and S class boring, unimaginative cars, bought by sheep who can't think outside the box, and you will rather buy those sexy and soulful Jag XJ and Quattroporte, but in this case, this incredible boring and repetitive old-new A4 is perfect for what is it?

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
