I don't get what they're doing with this car?

I cannot help but suspect that this "absolutely lazy" A4 "facelift" heralds the swansong for Audis' MLB matrix. It (including its' A5 siblings), along with the recently introduced A6,A7 and A8 model lines, will be the last representatives of a corporate toolkit that will, in the medium-term future, be retired. MLB will be scrapped by 2025 at the latest, I reckon.

You know a facelift is a let done when the highlight is nardo grey. Audi salesmen are going to have a hard time getting buyers excited about the A4. The new V60, facelift C-Class and up and coming G21 will do a much better job winning over hearts.

On showroom floors at Audi dealers the A4, both inside and out, will be exciting as a white loaf of bread against the new A6, A7 and even A1.

In theory changes are very small... but i think this new bumper makes the car look a lot better than before (especially the s-line trim, which i think looked somehow... wrong).

I quite like this sutle FL.but what is Audi smoking?why didn't they give A8\A7\A6's exhaust pipes a similar execution as this A4's,which was executed so much better,at least looks like "real".

This FL only centers on changes to S-line package and also the introduction of Competition package. Otherwise no mention or pics show standard model changes. It really is hardly a FL at all, even the powertrains remain the same. What a big disappointment, the A4 has become so much less desirable than its major rivals especially seen how much Mercedes has revised the C-class and with a new 3-series around the corner as well, Audi will have difficulty improving sales.

Audi A4 Ultra Sport Edition Is Fitting Farewell To Manual Gearbox
There are only 40 of them, so act fast to reserve one.
A lack of demand is forcing Audi to drop a manual gearbox option from the refreshed A4's lineup in the United States, but the Four Rings knows that its hardcore fans prefer a three-pedal layout. As a farewell to this transmission and for a gift to fans, Audi USA is creating 40 examples of the A4 Ultra Sport that gives the sedan a clutch pedal, in addition to lots of sporty upgrades. The improvements boost the price by just $6,800.
The Ultra Sport edition starts with mid-range Premium Plus trim of the 2018 A4. Mechanically, the upgrades include adaptive dampers and variable-ratio dynamic steering. On the outside, they all have Quantum Gray paint with titanium black trim. Carbon fiber parts cover the mirror caps and tiny trunk lip spoiler. The sedans ride on 19-inch, five-spoke wheels with a matte titanium finish. It might be hard to identify them because part of the package includes removing the model and engine badges from the trunk.

Inside, Ultra Sport buyers find a significantly improved cabin over a standard A4. Diamond-stitched Alcantara covers the center sections of the four-way, power-adjustable sport seats, and smooth leather is on the bolsters. Leatherette upholstery appears on the center console and armrests. Drivers grip a flat-bottom steering wheel and step on stainless steel pedal caps. Audi Sport RS carbon fiber trim adds a sporty aesthetic to the interior. As a final touch, the headliner is black cloth.

Only a few percent of A4 customers in the U.S. opted for the manual gearbox, so the company dropped it from the refreshed version. The 2019 A4 is only available with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The model also has slight design revisions, but you need to look close things like the tiny tweaks to the lower fascia.

Well...I do like those rims. As 21"ers, they'd fit the larger A6/A7/A8 quite nicely.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
