Another question for Shmee will he buy this or the Ferrari Superfast?

And GCF cares because?

After playing with the DBS configurator on the A-M website earlier today, I must say I am now convinced that the new DBS Superleggera is a genuine example of finest automotive art.

I played with it as well and came to the conclusion that there were endless options to configure your own. Fortunately the quilted seats are not mandatory because their design is truly a strange one.

They look so after market job, like Mansoury for example.

The DBS looks "Classier" than the 812 SF but the Ferrari looks much more aggressive.

Shmee has no history with Ferrari and would get laughed out of a dealer if he walked in and asked for a factory allocation. The only option would be to buy a used one at a very inflated priced which he won't as he's very savvy car buyer.

...and my fascination continues to rapidly grow with every additional glance. An amazing triologue of concave, convex surfacing and refined tendon accentuation. Spot on dimensions of the architecture.

Congratulations to the Aston Martin design team. They've created a more than worthy successor to the Vanquish. An automobile for the ages.

He had FF and sold it few months back and now he just bought McLaren senna so he might restrain from buying anything for now haha.

True. He did have an FF but it was bought used. V12 Ferrari's are exclusive and getting to factory order one is a privilege. Priority goes to those who already own several Ferraris.

A DBS will be a lot easier for Shmee to buy since he bought a Vantage GT8 from factory and owned a used Vanquish Volante. However he is likely to only buy the DBS if he deems that it won't depreciate.

I think it's downsized 5.9L V12 by Ford with turbos...

The original AM V12 developed during FoMoCos' reign (AM a member of the short-lived Premier Automotive Group subsidiary) was a Ford Duratec V6 derived (2 V6s' "joined" longitudinally) powerplant. The current AM V12 twin-turbo has very little if anything to do with the V12 of the late 1990s'.

So it has nothing to do with old engine but it is assembled in Cologne, Ford factory?

I believe so-albeit in a separate, exclusive assembly facility within the factory complex. I believe that Mahle Powertrain (of which Cosworth Technology has become a subsidiary) played an instrumental role in the 5.2L V12 TwinTurbos' development.

Being a major fan of "sedcoupes" in general, this cannot help but absolutely mesmerize me:

Bloody brilliant !

I still can't get over how they took the very mediocre DB11 and transformed it. This new DBS is arguably the best looking car in production. If it isn't, it's certainly in the conversation.
