The All-new Mercedes-AMG SL (R232)

Almost 70 years ago, a sports car launched in Stuttgart immediately became a legend. The vision of expanding the potential of the Mercedes-Benz brand through motor racing successes produced the first SL as a result - a road-going racing sports car. Shortly after its début in 1952, the 300 SL (internal designation W 194) reaped success after success on the race tracks of the world. In its first year, it achieved, among other things, a spectacular one-two victory in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans and even took the first four places in the Nürburgring Grand Jubilee Prize for sports cars. Its successes quickly make the SL a legend.

Mercedes-AMG SL facelift to bring softer character and new V8
"Overwhelmingly positive reaction" to plush Maybach SL will return model to its roots as softer grand tourer
That’s exactly the right thing to do.

For a real GT Roadster successor it was simply too heavy.

They need to fix the price (the residuals are down anyway) and it might really become successful.

I personally think the SL53 will be probably the best choice.

The SL has never been a proper sportscar and doesn't need stiff suspension, its a GT convertible and this will be a the best move for this car that they bring in softer riding suspension. If it doesn't lose much agility but ride comfort improves a lot and they make it a quiet cruiser this will make it a brilliant allrounder for the convertible class.

I‘d like to see them implementing the E-ABC suspension.

The ABC was absolutely gorgeous on the previous SLs.

So smooth and still very precise.
