No word thus far regarding the inline-6. Hmmm...

I had a 996 cab and it was wonderful for me at the time, despite the deafening tire noise. This has less of a hunchback so I'm happy with it. I ended up putting in an order for a SL63. I don't think I need to the SL63e with the added weight from the P1 hybrid gear.

Now 911 vs AMG GT? Sorry, the 911's iconic shape in coupe form is too hard to ignore.

Nice, any idea how you are thinking of speccing it?

Don’t like it… The AMG GT was/ is special; this not so much.. the front is weird and not in a good way. The slasher headlight unit just does not work…

the GT should have been allowed it’s own lineup as the halo car. This is just another Mercedes …:/

The hybrid and I6 models are coming later. I'm not sure how I want to spec this one...the DOG haven't even been released and even then availability always changes a bunch before they get close to order-lock in. It will be a fun color though, not black or white. I'm considering a China Blue special order but we'll see.

Ooooooooh, that's a nice one, one of my favorite M-B blues. I recalled a post on here of an AMG GT convertible in that color that had a bit of orange, and it was *chef's kiss* just perfection. Like a nice variation of the Gulf livery.

It's just a generic Mercedes coupe. I do not see anything unique in the design that makes me wanna say this is the new SL.

Wow the new SL is a stunner, it looks amazing. Great blend of sleekness, sporty aggression, and elegance. I think its best looking SL since R230. The interior also looks great., love the seats.

It's so awesome they brought the SL55 badge back, Quite funny that this SL55 has exactly the same power and torque (350kw/700nm) as the original model from 2001.

Probably an R129 in immaculate condition. Then again, I'd choose an immaculate 300SL Gullwing or a 350 SE cab over an R129. As far as a new SL goes, the R232 is pretty darn nice.

I don't care about the outcome of this particular question, but I do have very serious doubts that many would actually enjoy owning an R129, especially since many haven't ever driven one. They're very lazy drivers perfect for cruising- but this is largely a pastime that doesn't reflect what many seek out today. Vague, numb recirculating ball steering coupled with a soft suspension and lazy transmission tuning make me think these would end up being very pretty garage queens for most.

Anyways, I love the features of the early R129s like the power rear view mirror adjustment and the auto locking door bins.
