It’s about 25cm or 10 inches shorter, and it’s under 200 inches long, in Europe 5m is the critical limit regarding car length.

Regarding safety, they’re still very good.

But I think Mercedes Benz is even better.

Some parts of europe only have parallel parking. The longer your car is, the less likely it is that you will fit into an available space or the one that another car is leaving.

The car I drive now is 4.8m. In some places I highly benefit from being morning person as I get parked early before others arrive. My easier car to park was 3.9m. I was able to parallel parks into gaps that the majority of other cars didn't fit in to.

XC40 is good if you are happy to consider a volvo. It's up there with the Citroen C4 Picasso with regards to the most impressive interior packing of any car that I've sat in. More spacious inside than cars that are signifigantly larger.
