"Land Rover’s baby SUV, the Discovery Sport, is from now on available with the company’s latest Ingenium diesel engines, which will replace the current diesel engine.

Available to order in Europe and South Korea from May 2015, the new 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel is available in two states of tune: 150PS (148hp) and 180PS (178hp). "

Thanks @marley71 - interesting to note that the 180 PS Ingenium engine is 5 kW down in power on its Ford-PSA forebear but 30 Nm up in torque.

I am looking forward to evaluating the ZF 9-speed Auto with the 180 PS engine to see how much of an improvement it is over its Freelander predecessor.

Despite the uninspiring interior, sales of the Discovery sport has been going strong, and I am seeing quite a few of them on the road. My neighbor recently traded his Hyundai Santa Fe for one.

I like it but it loses the rufty toughty look of the current Disco, I don't know if many current Disco owners would want to change over to a more Range Rover like product with I'm pretty sure a much higher Range Rover like price!

Don't worry. You won't miss the utilitarian look of the outgoing model. The Freelander looks extremely dated compared its replacement the Discovery Sport. Clearly, the new Discovery looks more like the Discovery Sport than the more handsome range rovers.

I wouldn't expect it to cost as much as a Range Rover as the engine choices and interior will be inferior, the same way the Discovery sport, despite it's 7 seats, is cheaper than the Range Rover Sport.
