X3/X4 [Official] 2011 BMW X3

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3.
So I guess that makes it alright for the X3 then...I see way more in common between the X3 wheel arch and GLK then I do the Forester and GLK. So much insecurity flying around. :D

And Oh dear another can of worms.

That has already been presented and put down.

Please. Eat that worm or put it back where you found it.

The way I see it, the new X3 has much more in common with the first generation X5 than with the GLK. By a mile.

True car enthusiasts focus on the small details that do matter, as well. :D

Absolutely true :t-cheers:

And ALL BMW's including the 1er has cloth covered A's (in fact the whole roof lining AND on the M-Sport pack the color of the lining is black opposed to the light grey);)

The rest of the car is so great, that it makes you skip the front :D

You claim you're able to detect plastic from a single photo? Wow! :D

It's not a plastic. Check here.

Thank GOODNESS!!!! I knew BMW wouldn't stoop that low.

Why is X3 rear hatch door one piece while the X5 rear hatch is 2-piece?

Strange question, really. Why should it be 2-piece?

Strange question maybe but a good question IMO.

My take on that Q.....I think that the boot floor is low enough for easy access and the rear hatch/door is not that high enough(top to bottom) for it to split - in other words, just like the X1 it's not necessary. In operating and practical testing of the 'friendliness of operation' BMW engineers would have tested the idea, believe you me! The Germans are VERY thorough and precise in the practicality and efficient operations area!

Since 2004 we have sold over 600,000 BMW X3 models , The car that started the premium segment for mid-class Sport Activity Vehicles.
:eusa_clap

In the design process for the F25 , We learned that customers like the strong solid , robust exterior so the decision was made to progress the original look in which with the more dynamic roof line towards the rear bringing a more cohesive look to the glasshouse than the E83.

That's not the way design should work: asking the customers, what the liked (on their cars) in the PAST! BMW should be thinking what customers would like in the FUTURE. And the headlights are just horrible. This in conjunction with the too steep grill makes the car ugly when viewed from 3/4 angle.

The car get's 8/10, actually 5/10 taken headlights/grill in account.

Shit looking interior, rather good looking exterior, an overall improvement comapred to the previous one but the X5 is still much much more likable.

Correct;)

I do like the new X3 in-and-out and it should age well, that said if you take Peter Schreyer's attempts on how KIA should look and the new Sportage...you are correct! The Sportage is going to f*up plenty manufactures plans in 2011. The Sportage may not be Premium, but guess what?! the recession is long from over, so Premium or not - good design, engine options, fuel consumption, kit: i.e. Multi function steering wheel, USB iPOD connection, climate control, 18" Rims, leather seats, Xenon lights, ABS, ESP + EBD, 6 speed Auto and AWD For R335 000.00 2.4 Petrol for the new Sportage (X1 118d R389 000 NO EXTRAS / Base price)
Money talks...and the design of Kia under Shcreyer is winning customers by the second...makes me worry!

BMW should listen to its customers, asking them what they like in the current model and then take that and make something new with those things in mind. Oh, well, just like it has been done now...

Absolutely true Doc!:t-cheers:

They will always listen, and concepts are there to test the public and customers response to newer ideas. I just think that under the leadership of Van Hooydonk, BMW can take more chances on being more 'bold' in their future designs.
'Generic' could become boring (not for me I like BMW generic) although a fresh idea here and there would not hurt IMO.

i.e. klier and myself did not think nor expect BMW to use the same Climate Control unit for the new X3 as used in the E90 3er, 1er, X1 etc.
Sharing that old part with lesser models is just plain foolish and stupid! It's so obvious compared to the F10's steering wheel and Instrument cluster that is fresh and new, bold and classy. Cost cutting really does not have to be that obvious in Premium products IMO.
Point in time: ARE BMW REALLY LISTENING?
