C-Class (W204) Official: 2010 C-Class Upgrades

The Mercedes-Benz W204 is the third generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The W204 platform was also used for the E-Class Coupé (C207). Model codes: W204 (sedan), S204 (station wagon / estate), C204 (coupé). Production: March 2007 – March 2014 (sedan), February 2007 – March 2014 (station wagon), 2011–2015 (coupé). Model years: 2008–2014, 2012–2015 (coupé)
The Chrysler 300 regardless of the version was based on the W210 E-Class in parts., not the W211. The engine and trim had nothing to do with it. The suspension, seats, dashboard etc. were all W210 E-Class parts. Base 300 is RWD just like all other variants, all based on the W210 parts/chassis.

Yeah the 300C was basically a re-bodied W210 with more modern motors. Only that the suspensions were I believe from the W211, only made out of metal and not aluminium like in the W211.
Good car BTW, the 300C.

Suspension was iron or steel instead of aluminum correct, but from the W210 not the W211.

M

ACtually the 5 speed tranny was the same in the 210 and 211 until MB went with the 7 speed version in 2006.

Uh, no it was not. The 300c was not a rebodied Mercedes of any sort. It inherited very little MB technology. The multi-link rear suspension and the old 5-speed tranny which MB was replacing in their product line was aobut it.

The 300c did not inherit a MB dash or chasis. Where did you get your info?

Look inside and under the car, it is very clear that those are Mercedes parts right down to the cruise control stalk.

The W210 was the basis for the 300, C or any other version. Chrysler didn't have a RWD chassis to begin with so the whole W210 chassis was used, all they did was change the suspension from aluminum to iron/steel to cut costs and tweaked it accordingly.

Look under a Challenger/Magnum/300 and look at the layout of certain components, its pure Mercedes-Benz.

The dash layout is exactly the same, so it's clear those are MB parts behind it (not the actual dash but what is behind). Do you recall any Chrysler having the single-stalk design for the wipers/indicators (directly inherited from MB without design mod), a separate round switch for the lights, a thin stalk for the cruise control (here again directly from MB's part-bin)?

The whole cabin is typically Mercedes, in terms of overall shape and ergonomics. Switches are placed like on a W210 and have the same function. Electronic platform and interior basic components are 100% W210.

The suspensions were 100% MB as well, as was the whole platform. Like Merc said, Chrysler had no RWD platform to begin with.

The 300C is just the same as the Crossfire. A re-bodied prevous-gen Mercedes. Which is pretty much all what could be done with that fusion, and only really benefitted Chrysler...

Interesting updates. MBUSA must have decided not to launch any updates until the full facelift comes along for 2011. If the C350 doesn't finally get 300+ hp for 2011 I'm going to cry.

Where you planning on purchasing the 2011 model?

I think the 2011 would be an interesting option, as it will feature some expected interior changes and new frontlights design, and should also add LED rearlights.

What do we know for sure about the 2011 FL ? Here is what I think : an introduction of C250CDI , C350 will have 292hp rather than 300+ hp as we dream of. C300 will have 240hp or even no change but an improvement in mpg. The front will have LED fog light, probably new bumper. The rear will have LED rear light. Overall , the shape will be the same, they will add new colors. Interior, they will have a fix nav display , new wood trim, few more options. Remember, MB does not want to update too much so the cost would be much more. Their priority is to bring a more fuel efficient car to the market. The update is just to head off the new BMW 3er which I think very interesting. The competition is going to be good in 2011.

Not sure, I'm thinking I want a 08 W211 E-Class instead. Those cars look sooo good and the C is a little small, especially getting in and out.

I'm sure you could get a good deal on the 08 E. Would you be trading in your CLK?

C-class is small, but still not a bad size. Probably if you drive with 3 other people most of the time then I would say the E-class would be a better option. Either car is a winner.

Nah, the CLK will be sold privately. Stealers never give you a fair trade in price.

Lol @ Stealers

That is true. When I was in Sales we usually held back 3-5k on trade-ins. If you want the best price for your car Carmax usually gives the most. You probably would come out better selling it out right as long as you don't waste too much money on advertising it.
