Let me make it perfectly clear, this is not about protecting the "British". I haven't lived there for 13 years and during that time I have seen the place deteriorate significantly, and now see the place for what it is. A grotty place inhabited by celeb-obsessed simpletons. I am very happy living in southern Holland in what is a lovely part of the world.


But anyway, I've made my point. Thanks for your reasonable response Monster.

A publicized journalist is a type of public figure and I'd say you'd have a hard time making the case.

Sure, it's perfectly fine to disagree with somebody's professional judgement. It's another thing entirely to question somebody's integrity, repeatedly, whilst you yourself enjoy the annonymity of hiding behind a username on the internet, as Kilcrohane is doing.

If Kilcrohane feels so strongly about his opinion, why is he ranting anonymously on an internet forum instead of signing up to Twitter and Tweeting these journalists directly? It took me all of ten seconds to contact Jethro Bovingdon.

Because Kilcrohane is a coward, that's why.

I know this is meant to be a humorous post but I think it helps to make it clear what exactly I think the problem is:

Saying you don't like somebody, their personality, their looks, the way they dress, their opinions is perfectly fine. Everybody is entitled to an opinion even if the person hearing it wouldn't particularly like it.

Saying somebody is accepting bribes, favours, or such like in return for writing favourable reviews, in a public place in published form or verbally (and an internet forum is no different to any other public place), whilst at the same time hiding behind an anonymous user name is extremely questionable and the victim would have a very good basis for litigation, if they chose to go down that route.

What I would REALLY love to know is why @Kilcrohane chooses to rant on an internet forum to strangers when he can speak to many of the people he attacks personally, just like I did. Many of the car journalists are on Twitter, and as was proven yesterday, will respond.

Seems a bit of a cowardly way to do it, doesn't it?

Betty sorry but you are not here to bring the world justice, so if any one misbehave or libel as you would say, its not your job to report/raise a lawsuit and blow things out of proportion.

Plus, there will be always people that think that the press are on agenda. Any columnist expect to hear different criticism specially if there is certain pattern in their views. What is new here ? is it just that Kilcrohane has been consistently bashing the British media for deceiving the readers ? Its his opinion and he seem very capable to analyse and bring different pieces of the puzzle together to present them the way he wanted. He is following them closely more than we do. Its his POV and he is responsible for it. Take it or leave not necessarily you are obliged to believe it. It is just interesting to hear it from different angle and it would make people read between the lines and think different. Doesn't mean we will believe everything he say.

I did it because I don't like bullies and cowards, and Kilcrohane is hiding behind a username and making libellous statements based on conjecture as opposed to hard evidence. I couldn't give a toss whether anybody thinks it isn't my job. I'm a decent human being who thought it was only fair that Jethro be made aware of what somebody was continually saying about him behind the protection of anonymity. What Jethro chose to do with that knowledge was up to him.

For crying out loud, I couldn't give a toss about Britain or Jaguar/Land Rover. I've never owned one and I'm pretty certain I never will. The only car in the line up that vaguely interests me is the XJ, and even then it's only a passing interest. I haven't lived in the UK for 13 years! I hate the place! I hate the people. I am very happy in Holland and I have no intention of leaving! I travel all over the world on a constant basis (next stop Warsaw on Tuesday and Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday) and I don't even consider myself as a citizen of ANY country. I'm a citizen of the World (God that sounds cheesy). To think that I have a bee in my bonnet because Kilcrohane is constantly slagging off the British press and JLR is so far from the truth you just wouldn't believe!

LMAO, Kilcrohane is IMO the most famous, most debated and most coveted person ever to type a word on GERMANCARFORUM.

He is oficially FAMOUS! Took some write-ups and very strong opinions and "accusations" to get here, but nevertheless I have yet to see a individual that could ratlle the feathers this much.

What is eating at me has something to do with the IMO protection of the Mercedes-Benz brand. Since just before and after the W222 launch. there is IMO a nasty-ness and bad smell towards rival brands Audi and BMW. IMO, IMO, IMO. Thats how i feel, leave me alone at that please. I will let it rest, not going to quote pages and pages of nasty sh!t, just shared my feelings, just a bit upset. Hollow acusations, please do not ban me, peace!

Look at the Audi fans they aren't crying.

There has been alot of crying from BMW fans since the W222 came out.

Maybe it upsets you all that it gets so much attention.

Other than that its like its always been on the forum in terms of bias.
