Z Series Next generation Z4 (spy pics & info)

The BMW Z models are a line of roadsters manufactured by German automaker BMW. The Z stands for Zukunft (German for future), and has been produced in four different series with six generations consisting of roadster, coupé, sports car, and concept variants. The introduction of the M Coupé and M Roadster in the Z3 line marked the first of the Z series to have a high-performance BMW M variant. The first generation Z4 also continued to offer M Coupé and M Roadster variants. The current Z4 (G29) uses BMW's (B58B30) inline-six, its platform is the basis for the current Toyota Supra.
Re: Next generation Z4

The exhaust seems like the N54 engines exhaust, why would they put that in teh Z9? If there is a Z9 will they be making an M version?

New pics ...

:t-cheers:

Scott will be delighted since debate Z9 vs. Z8 vs Z6 vs Z4 is still going on ... Since debate = maximum publicity. :D

But ...

It's E89 Z4. You still doubt? Look at the latest spy pics to see how heavy & voluminous the plastic camo is - making the car much larger than actually is. You can also perform the test posted in my previous post here in this thread. ;)

Also: As seen both folding roof versions (canvas & metal one) are being developed & are being tested now. While my sources favor canvas, Scott insists on metal - yet I'm sure tests will tell which will go into production in the end (like it was the case with E93 cabrio).

Re: Next generation Z4

What, they're a bad source?

Re: Next generation Z4

remember the Corvette...

Im not implying that is what they are doing here with this Z4, just that I m hesitant to take them seriously.

Re: Next generation Z4

Actually I don't remember, what happened?

M

Re: Next generation Z4

Youch. I doubt that is what happened with the BMW shots though.

M

Oh I highly doubt it, thats not what I was trying to imply. Just that I personally will never respect winding road for a while.

Re: Next generation Z4

That is definitely BMW's authentic disguising. That corvette thing is pretty funny though.

Re: Next generation Z4

News Flash! Just in on the wire: Next Generation BMW Comes With CLOTH Seats!

Re: Next generation Z4

Hopefully this lays all the Z9 "exclusive" stuff to rest. Now that it can be seen it is the replacement for the Z4.

Re: Next generation Z4

I feel very amused seeing the Americans being shocked by cloth seats in a BMW.

Osna, tell them that's very usual for Europe - especially for 115hp / 129hp 116i / 318i . :D;)

Also: do people really think early prototypes should feature leather seats??? :t-crazy2:

Re: Next generation Z4

Prototypes especially early engineering development mules mainly concentrate on the hardware first . interior modules are pressed for cost reason within each programme only until we get later down the development programme that we start to use production interior modules using the quality materials found in production cars - because basically at this time the interior developers and designers will be working on creating the ideas such as texture ,material and so on.

Re: Next generation Z4

Scott, why does the new mule seem to have soft-top and not folding hardtop as the previous mule has..?
