Double up the cylinder counts on the above engines and we get:
2.7l, 244Hp/380Nm 6-Cyl x25i
2.7l, 300Hp/440Nm 6-Cyl x30i
2.7l, 360Hp/520Nm 6-Cyl x35i
3.6l, 408Hp/600Nm 8-Cyl x40i
3.6l, 480Hp/700Nm 8-Cyl x45i
Anyone else see this as the way forward for BMW I6/V6 and V8 engines?
x = Series, 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 etc
It's a bit of a shame that the model designation had a meaning in the past, and now it's lost.... It's becoming confusing, and I can't tell what engine size the car has from its name ...
