A8/S8 Next Generation Audi A8 (D4) Spy pics & info.

bmw fan boys are trying everything they can to accuse audi of BORROWING stuff from bmw, and stuff can mean... (as rediculously as it sounds) camo patterns!!

now let's not get into what kind of computer OS bmw and audi are using in their respective offices, because for the most part, audi will be COPYING bmw by using windows OS (or Mac), and folks in munich are REALLY WORRIED because of this, and is preparing to suit audi for PC-usage infringement

3M produces camo tape of various patterns & colors. Audi opted to use the same pattern & color as BMW uses on their prototypes. How lame is that?

It's effective and it works, who cares? It's not like BMW invented it. They simply buy it somehwere too.

Perhaps Audi picked that camo to fool spy photographers into thinking that the new model was a BMW? Perhaps they did it as a joke?

Perhaps we have better things to do than discuss about camouflage?:D

PS. Some years ago i remember that they had a Q7 prototype on testing with a Hyundai badge on it...lol...:D

OMG....do I see a giant A4 with a previous-generation 7-Series trunk lid?

The A8 is finished in this country if they ugly it up.

What show is the A8 to debut at ?

In VWAGs financial report it stated new A8 will be revealed this year :D

^^
If they retain the current appeal with some careful updates like semi-new shapes for the head lights then I think the car will be a hit. To be honest I'm not too fond of the direction BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and many other Japanese car manufacturers are taking. Several of the cars we've seen lately are severely over designed and I do think that there is a market for more genuine designed without excessive styling. I can't say I'm highly pleased with the new E-Class Coupe or the new Z4 that much either.

All I'm hoping for is some slightly curved tail lights likes those on the Sportback:

^ ^I kinda agree. Over-design is a real trend those days, I don't like it.
However the new A4/A5 have lost the purity of older Audis, with swooping character lines for the A5, and the A4 having many lines (especially the front wing is very busy). As a result, while I love the A5 (but feel the swooping line is not necessary), the A4 doesn't look too good.

And the proportions of the new A8 look off, with that big boot... The Sportback Concept looks awesome however, so let's see.

The AB car is fugly, and seems to be pretty close to the real deal, this is bad sign...

The F01 is displaying a certain restraint in terms of design it's not that over-designed. And Mercedes doesn't seem to really over-design too much for now, even if the cars a indeed visibly "designed" unlike the 80's models.

In this case the bangle-but can turn out to be the pit fall for Audi as it's a very decorative design element. I have to defend the A5 and say that the swooping lines are warmly welcomed attributes. The curves are reminiscent of a woman's body which is exactly what makes the car so lovable and dreamy. Why else do you think men are so attracted to cars like the CL, X6, 997 C4S, CLS and Continental GT? The S5 has beauty unlike the A8 which is a handsome and very masculine in its demeanour. The same can how ever not be said for the A4 which was clearly crafted to appeal particularly to people who fancy a 335i with M-package. It's still not an ugly car though, but far from perfectly crafted car. So I'm very intrigued over this car and what it will contribute to the segment in terms of appearance.

The shape of the F01 is very simple and likeable but the front end doesn't possess the same grace, but the interior layout is flawless though. It's just some minor styling details that bugs me. I fancy the new E-class although it's on the border between crazy and genius, but the E-Coupe is a bit too much. The double fogs are clear examples of over-design and Porsche has nothing to be proud of either.

Profits at Audi are good and if they do a good job with the A8, they might well be up there with MB and BMW next year. Iron Man 2 is coming up next year and it wouldn't be surprising if the new A8 gets used as a VIP car at the launch.

I know these are PS but not too impressed. Its not as beautiful as the current A8. Just my opinion but its got a hint of Toyota up front and an Alfa rear with A5 lines. Doesn't quite balance. How ever its probably a design that has the potential to grow on me.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
