1 Series Next Generation 1-Series Thread (Spy pics, Info & Impressions)

The BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since 2004. Positioned as the entry-level model in BMW range of products, the first generation was produced in hatchback, coupé and convertible body styles.
...and it would be almost like aquiring SAAB, at least in terms of current products :D

The back despite an apparent lack of change will be immensely improved proportion wise, the headlights on the other hand remind me too much at this stage of the one on the old cirtoen C4.

Lol, it's the same car in the photos I've been shown . :usa7uh:
The car, not the photos though. The ones I've seen was more carefully taken. Much more details revealed there.

Btw, the red line predicting the headlight shape is totally off!

I also find the title quite funny: "Einser Facelift ... (Model 2012)" :D

It's a new Mk, not a facelift (LCI). The design is evolutionary though.

Faster , lighter and more dynamic

The new BMW 1er Sporthatch shows why it will be the choice for Sheer driving pleasure within the Premium Compact Segment.

You are now officially weeks away from the official launch of the new 1er Sporthatch.

Yeee-haa!! Catch me an A3 or two! :D

Looking at this new 1er flying around the 'Ring, it's stance is definitely an improvement over the out-going model. The current 1er had that low-slung look which looked cool at first, but with the 5dr hatch it seemed overly stretched. The new 5dr 1er hatch looks more upright, lively, active and ready-to-go in its stance, but it maintains that slung-back look thanks to sporty C-pillar design.

This video has been believing the new 1er will be more exciting than first thought! :)

Check how very 3D the panels are. Very sculptured. The creases are very pronounced. So are the wheel arches. The #D dynamic flame-surfacing theme from E87 is preserved. Yet this time the hood is a part of this story as well. Character lines are now steeper, more dynamic. The rear is more alive & dynamic thanks to rear light graphics, and vivid rear bumper design. The front looks very aggressive - much more than on E87 - due to headlight design & graphics, sculptured hood, shark-like grille with 6er-like "broken" kidney slots. The sculptured front bumper with sporty-looking air intake slots & contours surrounding the headlight clusters looks predatory & alert. The details are much more refined & flowing. The car looks more mature, yet still as dynamic as E87. Quite less awkward. Easier on the eye, definitely Detailing is heavy though - very dynamic. Boring? Not at all, aside from evolutionary shape & conservative greenhouse size.

:t-cheers:

The rear end of this car screams Golf IV, which, of course, can´t be a bad thing, as it is IMO the nicest Golf ever produced. This must be the top end version, because of the exhaust and the rims. 128i or 125i. I doubt we see the 135i on the new 1er as the 1M will have a 4 banger, and the M version can´t have less cylinders than an inferior version.

The rear lights are just too un-BMW for my liking, i mean it looks good but i just hoped it had a more BMW-ish, or a more unique set of headlights than this, which really screams Golf. Other than that, a mature version of the E87, things are smoothened up, but things like the large wheel arcs on the E87 has been toned down...

Actually I'd say that's a bottom end version, top end versions would have a double exhaustpipes, either on the same side or on different sides.
