E-Class (W213/C238/A238) Next E-class on a Severe Diet

The Mercedes-Benz W213 is the fifth generation of the E-Class range. Body styles: sedan/saloon (W213), wagon/estate (S213), long wheelbase (V213), coupé (C238), cabriolet (A238). Production: 2016–2023. Predecessor: W212 E-Class. Successor: W214 E-Class, C236/A236 CLE.
I wonder when are we going to see the first spy pics of the W213 E-Class. It should be here in a couple of years.

I reckon that we should be seeing spyshots of relatively lightly veiled W213 cars by the end of 2014/beginning 2015. And the first official factory photographs by the end of 2015.

let's discuss what we expect it to be and hope that mercedes will improve based on our suggestions

i want the v8 engine to stay for the e class. the v8 that mercedes makes just sound so much better than the 550i engine

I think the current 4.6L twin-turbo V8 is the FINAL V8 engine to be found in the E Class. Only the AMG models will continue to live on with the V8 engine. The writing has been on the wall for a while now. That's why I chose a E500 and not wait for the E400 to come to Hong Kong.

The latest issue of Germanys' Auto Motor und Sport (on newsstands today) has a feature article on the 2016 W213 E-Class. I have yet to grab a copy, but it should be interesting reading.

Mercedes needs to knock it out the park with the E-Class, even more so than with the S-Class.

I would have a SL550 if it didn't have that truck-like front end. You have to step up to the SL63 for it to get better. A lot of $$$$.
........

2 year old SL63 lease return will be in the same ballpark as the 550, Merc. Go 4 it!

It seems like a decade since the last time I read you.

I hope you post more, I really enjoyed your opinions ;)

Clearly that isn't it. That is a CLA/S-Class hack job.

If you look at the magazine cover and then at the enlarged picture of the car, you'll notice that the photoshop shown is for the 2014 C-class.

I love the S-Class but I don`t want to see the same design on the next E. I don`t think it will happen because the E has, for the most part stood on it`s own.

I know it's highly unlikely that it will end up looking like that but I love it!
I don't know why but I have a strange feeling that the next E-Class will benefit the most from MB's new design language.
I'm sure they will put a lot of effort to make it look brilliant since BMW really upped the game with the F10.
Competition... you gotta love it!

the new s got some of its design cues from the cls which is essentially a heavily modified e class. And now the e class is getting some design cues from the s and we start the cycle all over again

Current CLS may share mechanical components and some electronics with the current E class but as far as design cues are concerned, there is no similarity between the two other than the Ponton fender which is not a part of the new Mercedes design language anymore. The E is a blocky sedan and the CLS is not. The headlights the tail lights and the body style are all quite different as it should be imo. The S W222 may have some design cues of the current CLS like the reverse dropping side line, the coupe inspired roof design and some design cues of the trunk.
