Hot! News and Rumors about Mercedes-AMG

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
As far as I remember the previous gen ICE X3M was well received in reviews and tests. They wont be introducing a new ICE model yet as the iX3 M will be coming out most likely with the same powertrain as the upcoming M3 EV. Expect HUGE power for the iX3M.

The M256m Evo sounds great here. Who would have thought that of an I6...
It has a snarling drum roll about it. It has the current E53, CLE53, as well as the previous E53 beat badly on sound alone. (The latter sounded like it was choking to even make an engine note at all on hard revs) They should have given it a slight power bump. 510hp is a little over the top, as that would have eclipsed the M177 in the SL55.
This might be the best-sounding hi-performance I6.

You know i was thinking, What if Mercedes made Black Series Versions of the W206 C63 & W214 E63 4-doors? Something like the Jaguar XF Project 8 back then.

-650hp C63 BS/720hp E63 BS
-1780kg C63 BS/1900kg E63 BS
-Widebody as standard with either Aero kit or Touring Kit.
-$150,000 C63 BS/$200,000 E63 BS
-Make 2000 pieces each, 4000 total (No 250 units crap, Ain’t no Mythos).

This was also a missed opportunity with the W205/W213 gen, people really loved those cars they wouldn’t mind paying more for a hardcore version of these. Or was it because they were going to cannibalise the AMG GT?

The AMG GT and BS C/E63 are different products. People who want the former, aren't going to care about the latter. In the same way someone who wants a 911 isn't going to be dissuaded by the existence of a Panamera.

They should really expand the Black Series programme & not tie it down to the AMG GT strictly.
Mercedes need to bring out Black Series saloons. They have only brought out Black Series coupes and sports cars over the years and a Black Series C63 and E63 would absolutely nail it and be great rivals for BMW CS models.

I can envision a day where most if not all regular Mercedes will be EVs but the AMG and other performance cars will be ice based hybrids. When both types of technology advances to much smaller batteries etc to reduce weight. Think 2040-2045.

The Black-Series models were strictly lightweight, two-door models, and they should stay there, given the long history. The newer versions leaned more toward track focus.
Mercedes-AMG would have to introduce a new nameplate for lighter-weight 4-door ultra-high-performance models. This kind of formula most likely would be a flop in the sales department. Unless these were produced in very limited numbers.
They would struggle getting those off the showroom floor, given the market is already struggling. 4-door buyers of Mercedes, even those who want the high-performance AMGs, demand luxury and emotion. (Hi-performance and luxury in one package.) Adding more power and a firmer ride in an AMG 4-door with track-focused seating does not sound like a successful formula in volume numbers.

You telling me no one would buy a $150k 4-door Sedan, 650hp V8, 1700ish kg track weapon that does low 7s on the Nürburgring? Have you seen the amount of GT3s out here dude? Mind you each of those is like $280k minimum

They would be EVERYWHERE if Mercedes makes them.

This guy gets it, Thank you🙏

These vehicles have a market that Mercedes can easily claim , they should start make these models.
