I think the GL is quite good too, the G class is showing it's age alot even though I still really like it. The G class reminds me of the first generation VW Golf, with its straight upright lines.

in black it looks stunning ,,, i posted some ugly comments before , but after i saw those picture , it doesnt really look bad ...

Thank you Mr. Chigga_Chan for explaining the denominations to me. You deserve an award. :usa7uh:

Well now that makes two Benzes I must see at Detroit, this GL thingy and the new S-Class.

Autoweek says the GL's 6th and 7th seats are an option... Is that true? I think that is wrong... That would defeat the purpose of this thing right? From the press release it seems like they are standard....

It would defeat the purpose... maybe they meant the last row can be removed for extra cargo !?

Well it has happened again. I blasted this thing when I saw the first pics, then Mercedes turns around and issues some that make the thing look better. That first pic is how it will be seen coming down suburbia street U.S.A for sure. I wonder if this thing will have off-road capabilities somewhat close to the real "G"? That rock-climbing pic seems to imply that. I still can't get over the cut-n-paste job MB did with the ML's interior, trying to save some Euros.

M

Here the M-class starts at 40,000 USD so a safe bet I would say is around 50,000 to 55,000 USD.

Damn! This thing actually looks better and better with each new set of photos. I actually see some Benz DNA in some shots, but that Toyota/Lexus gene is there also.

I guess I really gotta see this one in person.

Kinda strange seeing "450" on the back of a modern Benz. They definitely don't need to put a "4Matic" badge on the back or a SUV, uh we know its got 4Matic.

M

Looks like the same thing the Jeep Commander suffered from, tiny back seats:t-hands: , definatley for kids only.

i like the front like the back but the side profile is ugly and it looks like a toyota highlander. the interior is nothin special so overall i dont like this truck

Another upgrade in the interior I just noticed is that the dashboard is leather. That's definetly a nice touch... MB definetly made some strides to improve the quality of the ML interior since they are charging a preium for this thing, and it is competing with the Rang Rover....

Same. I think I'll wait to see it in the metal now.

Also, perhaps the interior is of a much higher qaulity than the M, even though the design is the same. It looks to have leather in a lot of places. I have no problems with the interior design of the M, just some of the materials used. If this addresses those concerns completely, than it will be an excellent interior.

What does look really useless is that third row seat.

That person from Autobild is nearly 2 meters tall, which is about 6'5, I think.
So it's not suprising that he doesn't fit in the back at all.
It does look roomy in the 2nd row though. =)

LOL i dont wanna be rude but that guy looks funny.. hahahaha.. i cant stop laughing.. maybe its the crack actin up again...:D

He is actually 1.97 meters tall to be exact! :-) He says it in the article... I think the back seats will fit two average sized adults.
