New Mercedes-Benz GL-Class officially unveiled

I can honestly say that my opinion on the GL has changed. When it was first presented I really didn't think much of it. After having seen and sat in one I think it really does look like a Benz, much more so than it did at first. There is a hint of the original "G" in the styling and the thing is very roomy. I predict that it will do much better in the U.S. than the R-Class. I know its coming, but I don't want a GL63.

If you say that then I'm thiking that you must be thinking of a particular American car when you say that? Care to shrare?

Lots of good pics, it looks rugged in that G-Class sort of way in some of these shots.

I think this thing will do better than the R-Class did when it was first introduced.

I like the truck well enough, but I absolutely hate that standard wheel. Ugly standard wheels seem to the norm on the ML,R and now GL.

I'm sort of starting to like this truck, but not that much (yet).

So the GL will get Distronic (or Distronic Plus)? Why didn't they offer that on the ML or the R? I won't feel safe knowing that my big SUV drives itself
