You obviously care enough to come to the defense of the G60, any time anyone disparages it or thinks something else looks better lol.

lol indeed at the stupidity

I am not defending anything, that time is long past me.

Who the f#ck BMW fans think they are to talk down Mercedes design when BMW makes f#cking ugly crap like this?
Not the best choice to bolster your attempt at a cleverly made point. Exterior-wise and in terms of the way it drives, the new X3 is the class leader. Its only drawback is the drop in interior quality which is a problem that afflicts most German cars now.

By way of its ICE-only underpinnings, the E-Class has unsurprisingly ended up the better proportioned car.

So Mr. Staff Member, let's go back to topic.

The interior is very nice apart from the felt lining the transmission tunnel, made worse by being two pieces overlapped.
Exterior looks great in the metal - far nicer than the awful 5er, for obvious reasons.

Lol. What a dumb oversight I know, but at least it's hidden in the console under probably a lot of junk.

You obviously care enough to come to the defense of the G60, any time anyone disparages it or thinks something else looks better lol.

And one more thing, you said you like the shape of the upcoming ing CLA better than an i5 or i7 in another thread, so your opinion on shapes and design is worth close to nothing since you appear blind.

And YOU were the one choosing to compare the CLA to the BMW i5 and i7, just as Martinbo was the one choosing to compare the E to the 5er. I merely responded. Don't be that hypocrite.

Now that's just mean. It's just an opinion.
I have an F10, which I think is the best proportioned 5er post 2000. The G60 doesn't look awful, but you can clearly see the bulk it's gained in the mid-section where the batteries are located. It's the exact same place where the new CLA has gained bulk. I just think it's better managed in the smaller car.

And YOU were the one choosing to compare the CLA to the BMW i5 and i7, just as Martinbo was the one choosing to compare the E to the 5er. I merely responded. Don't be that hypocrite.
I did in the CLA thread, and you responded even though you 'don't care.'

I didn't make the comparison in this thread, and you still responded even though you 'don't care.'

Now I could say that you thinking the W214 not being clearly better looking than the G60 means your opinion on shapes and design are worth close to nothing as you appear to be blind, but I'm not going to, cause it's not that deep.

When the ground is burning things like this happen. It doesn’t matter if it’s a CLA or a G60 it affects the whole lineup.

Actually Mercedes BMW and Audi perform the same irrelevant designs or even ugly and outdated.
Maybe Mercedes is the only one that has a kind of Design language, but it’s awful beginning with a GLA ‘til EQS and GLS. The W214 or even W223 are a random must-replacement for once stunning predescessors, yet still just safe and correct.

That’s quite the contribution - merely posting a pic to get things back on topic that you took off topic. Solid effort, Mr. Nobody.

I treat you with respect by reminding that you're a staff member and you treat me like that? Nice manners Pieter Botha...

You roll around the forum acting like a belligerent, desperate, Tony Soprano wannabe basically insulting as many groups of people as you can, and yet you haven't yet been banned despite being a perma-banned former user - that's the respect we show you.

This made me literally laugh out loud by the way...

If you're going to get snowflakey with the mods every time you get a little push back (not even actual infractions or warnings) for some of the inane crap you post, then you're probably going to want to improve your manners.

I agree that German manufacturers have been presenting far less than stellar designs as of late. I also agree that it is M-B that presents an at least remotely cohesive exterior design theme from top to bottom. The electric MB.EA and AMG.EA cars will be significant defining factors. I'll include Porsche as well. As far as VAG goes, it is interesting that its Chinese joint ventures are presenting concepts that arguably top their "home grown" counterparts in terms of visual attractiveness. The Andreas Mindt design team presented the VW ID CODE, Jozef Kabans team the A U D I -E-. Both look far fresher than what German-based teams have been presenting. Especially the ID CODE looks, IMHO, splendid. As for BMW, I personally have some high hopes for the NKL cars, anticipating the i3 sedans design theme to migrate upwards through the range.

I guess there really is no need for them to upgrade the E450 to a 435hp E500. The E450 is sorta hot roddish already.

E450 seems to be the sweet spot in this segment. It is just a little bit slower than CLE 53, basically the same price fully loaded and on top of that better interior build, airmatic, more roomy, practical, etc. I am still gettin over the stupid black surrounds in the front but hey, nobody's perfect.

There is no need of course.
But there is a want for an E580 V8 with 525hp. Something that is fast and powerful, but not as taught as an AMG. But alas, it is impossible under current regulation.

Not impossible at all, but demand has never been there for a non AMG V8 E-Class.
