X5 New BMW E70 X5 official photos & info!

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
So, it's here.

:D

I've told you you'll be amazed by the press pics. And the car.
Just wait for the all official info with all the goodies under the skin.
So - let me say it again: beefy & aggressive, but not bulky / chuby like E53. Go eat yourselves, ML & Q7, hehe. :D j/k

one this is for sure..this will sell like crazy.. just wait until it hits the US..lol

I really like how BMW combined their new design language with the familiar details of the E53. The new front lights remind me of a bird's eyes. The look in the "eyes" is sharp and purposeful. The interior is nice and fresh. Not so many sharp lines as in the 5 Series. The atmosphere inside looks calm and restful.
I don't find anything in the new X5 that could cause contradiction. The new X5 is definately going to be a hit! :usa7uh:

Is this a new chassis and all?

Yep - new chasis & suspension. And AdaptiveDrive will be offered of course, and Active Steering, and updated X-drive, and updated iDrive (with 8 shortcut buttons - "fast dial" for entertaiment sources, phone numbers, navigation destinations), and the Steptronic, not to mention much better torsional stiffness (27.000Nm/o ; +15%) & cw value (only 0,33), and do not forget all the electronic goodies etc.

0,33 holy s***, that's better than the M coupe and equall to the old Murcielago.

This is the best first impression i have on new BMWs.

The x5 looks fantastic, maybe the first bmw for a while to not get a bashing from the press. The key design elements are done nicely, especially the interior, imho i have to say that this interior looks more exciting an inviting the some of audis latest interiors:) . But do any of you knwo why that side strip is theer , are they keeping taht on , i havent seen side stripes on a bmw since the e46. thanks guys

The press has yet to say anything about the car. Give it a while and I am sure you will have your good and bad comments. No car is pefect.

What side strip are you talking about? The black one? It is on the previous X5.

ye but all the latest bmw's havent had that side strip , jus wondering why they wud put it on X5, it looks out of place

I'm 100% I've seen one car without the strip - or it was at least in body color. But it looked more like it wasn't there - just a crease was visiable.
So it could be optionally removed or something. :t-hands:

Btw, yes: BMW future designs will be more refined. Still dynamic & futuristic, but with much more attention to details. Some cars will be evolutionary (like new 5er, 6er, 7er - but much more sportier & refined), some revolutionary (X6, V5) - but all will be very refined, and without clumsy details ala too prominent eyebrows & "Bangle-butt" - all such detail will be much better integrated into overall design.

Like I said before: starting with Z4 Coupe, E92 3er Coupe (and following by X5 E70, E93 3er cabrio, 2er cabrio & coupe, X6, new 7er etc) the press will start to praise BMW again - also due design (and also due quality, and the features - and of course performance).

I'm not entirely sold on this car, yet. I first of all have to see it in real life because I'm sure it will look alot better that way.

The interior on the other hand is top notch! Just awsome:icondrool
