I believe aluminium takes a lot more skill to work with, not just any metal worker at a body shop knows how to deal with it.

yep, hence the repair costs for a 5er or 6er's front bumper.

Aluminium cannot be welded like steel and requires special techniques to mend. My accountant has new A8 and his son did some serious damage to it at the end of last year. It took 9 weeks to fix it and that was with attention from Day 1 of it being towed back in. At least in Sydney, am not sure if Audi currently has the resources to deal with large scale aluminium repairs.

Very true. I've heard of people avoiding buying the A8 because there are simply very few shops willing or able to service aluminium bodies.

What a great rear lights ... I like how Audi implemented the LED technology ... much better than MB which used it first ..

Woah! That's really cool.

I'm not sure if those are LED lights though. Looks as though those could be common bulbs encased in a really cool housing.

my sig was going to be "I am paving the road to hell!" lol.

I think Hell is where most of us here are going: fast, expensive cars; fast, expensive women; high quality booze...what a way to damnation!

Btw, when does that new VW 3.6 L V6 get used by Audi???

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
