A6/S6/RS6 New Audi RS6 (Spy pics & info)

Re: New RS6 (Spy pics & info).

If there would be a high-revving engine, then I reckon that would not be the need for a Turbo.

That's not the point. Since launching the B7 RS4, Audi made it known that the high revving engine concept was apart of their strategy for the RS line of cars, if they've changed their mind... well then, I don't know?

Re: New RS6 (Spy pics & info).

Sorry to burst Audi die hards bubbles, but a turbo doesn't fit in w/ the high revving concept. And I don't know that the exhaust note sounds like that of a V-10, sounds more like a V8 to me.

Oh yeah man, thats a V-10 alright! The Lamgorghini V10s have a distinctive engine note that I`m aware of and it`s all there in the test car, no doubt about it! It almost possesses that threaded note the M5 does.

That aside I agree that vthe Hi-Rev concept doesn`t need Turbos... this one might have them because the M5 screems at a higher note than this engine does but this engine is a little larger and that also affects sound.

68K redline.

Re: New RS6 (Spy pics & info).

if it's turbo, i really hope it's not a v10, the car will probably be too nose-heavy with v10 and turbos hanging in front.

That seems rather Hi from a Turbo charged engine.. I guess anything under 7000rpm is quit possible. I also hope the RS6 isn`t too nose heavy considering V10 with the turbos and AWD. This car isn`t going to be a light weight by any means.

With and estimatede 580ps (573hp) I still believe it will be a few ticks faster than the E63 and M5.. no doubt about it.

there are turbocharged cars that reev higher than 7000 rpm. A BMW 335i revs to 7000 rpm. So a turbocharged car reving to 6800rpm isnt impossible.

My A4 revs to 68K and it has a turbo as well.

I agree with you, but don't forget, this isn't the finally look of the RS6. It will be a beast, when it is on the road.
