Interesting:

• P R N D S ...
• No steering wheel paddle shifters ...
• RPM: approx. 8,100rpm max, red field starts already at 6,700rpm ...

So, V8 or V10 turbo engine & auto-gearbox? It seems so ...

redline says it all, its going to be a turbo version, probably around 580hp.

Sad if its only a regular automatic

So, pretty much we see here, only numbers lack, but that'll come soon i guess. And it seems pretty sure that it's a turbo version. Nice! But i only don't get that tranny... I don't want to believe that it's the regular automatic, with all their R Tronics and stuff i'm expecting something more advanced and better than just a regular automatic.

We'll see though...

Could be R-tronic ... But ... Is Audi able to pair such gearbox with the torque monster 5.2L V10 engine? The absence of the paddle shifters indicates a regular Tiptronic.

Also - the engine: V10 (bi)turbo, or V8 (bi)turbo? Is Audi going back to the RS models with turbo engines - while S models, and R-family (R8, possible R4) will stick to NA engines?

No idea, honestly. Btw, a question: the R Tronic, how much torque it can handle? Anyone with the data?

Thanks for posting those pictures!

Tells a lot, I'm amazed how someone would be able to take these photos, unless the tester took them. Not so happy about the auto, thought the RS4 had changed RS models, but it would seem that's not true!

Can't wait to heard what this engine's got!

The RS6 will have a "smaller" 5.0 V10 engine with a couple Turbos bolted to it and not a Twin-turbocharged variant of the S6 5.2 V10.

The gearbox will probably be the same with Touareg V10 TDI which also has monster torque numbers.

Twin-pipes and a rear diffuser. Mmm...

Audi seems to be moving towards light-blue lighting as seen in the TT and A5. I prefer it to be the normal white/black/red combination to be honest. The redline does seem a bit tame but like what you guys said, it's gonna be a turbo and I'm happy for that. I think the A6 is too heavy a car to be sporty enough, so a GT would make perfect sense, to rival the E-Class. In that case the automatic also makes sense, from what Yannis said I'd be a ZF 6-speeder? BTW, how do you guys know that there are no paddles, maybe it's too small to be seen? Anyway I think the M5 would be a class on its own here, if the RS6's gonna be a GT-type car... What do you guys think?

RS6 will accelerate faster and handle at least as good (or better) as a M5 but still the M5 will be the sportiest and more involving to drive and the cheapest in this gang.
Thats my prediction!

Tuning companies are going to love the turbocharged RS6, now when AMG abandon supercharger its only Audi left.
