A6/S6/RS6 New Audi RS6 Sedan (Spy Pics & Info)

Re: Audi RS6 Sedan spy pics

I prefer the wagon. Audi always did wagons better imo, almost always feels like they designed the wagon first and the sedan came later - something about the way C pillars meet the body in Audi sedans, it always looked awkward to me.

I think we all know this car will be amazing looking! I hope it's lower then the wagon. The wagon rides quite high on those 20inch wheels and it doesn't look to out of place. I think it will look weird on the sedan if it has the same ride height. Hopefully they lower the sedan...

:usa7uh:

Hmmm... unfortunately the RS6 still does nothing for me at all.

From the frontal 3/4 view, the front wheel arches haven't been executed all that well. It looks very Subaru WRX-ish, especially because the flaring abruptly ends at the forward edge of the front door.
The rear diffusor doesn't fit in well with the smooth surfaces and curves of the rest of the car. Also, the whole 'let's just add a black plastic rear diffusor and have some tail pipes sticking out from the edges' look is outdated now. I have the same criticism for the latest-generation AMG vehicles, but then again AMG isn't overly imaginative in design.
Finally, I can't say enough about how horribly boring the front of the A6/RS6 is. IMO, simply adding a very oversized smiley-face air-intake does not make the car aggressive, it actually makes the entire front end out of proportion. An Audi S5 style air-intake would have made more sense because it would give off a 'grrrrr!!' expression of aggression.

The previous RS6 was nicely done yet different to the E39 M5 and the E55. For me, this new RS6 is dull and unimaginative.

Why I really wait for the Sedan?

- I hope for lower weight
- Better handling
- Better numbers
- Not as much "family" car as the Avant. More of a racer!

Bring it on!!!

Im also not fascinated by the new rs6.
first of all, the understatement of the rs6 is too much. perhaps some competitors are too much overstyled, but the audi is the complete opposite. not my favour.
the second point is the family-face of the audi.not especially the rs6, the complete brand has a front which has a too similar front. a identity design is good, but not too much of it.

It looks great, but the Avant version looks even better!

Finally a proper car. A station wagon is a station wagon.

They really should renew the headlights in a way that they did with the new A3 Cab lights.

Can anyone tell me why the RS6 get a boring grille and not a more sporty one? Maybe the one of the Allroad?

It's still under testing... I'm sure they'll "satisfy" you once the car is officially presented.

:t-cheers:

But the RS6 Avant does not have a particularly interesting grille either...Don't think it will be different for the sedan, the front end will surely be exactly the same...
The lights look very old too.

I always preferred the Avant A6, Audi is better at designing Avants than sedans for me.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
