I see that VAG are planning to have a four door coupe in every segment:

Passat CopyCat
A5 Sportback
A7 Sportback
Panamera
Continental GT Sportback?
Galibier

And surprizingly , the cheapest one is the most elegant one.

I think quite a few here will be eating humble pie when they actually get a chance to see the A7 in the fresh, it's actually a very elegant looking car.

Time to bring back some passion for Audi in this thread....

HOT!

I ask because it's ridiculous to make statements as you have and then label someone else's opinion as tripe unless you have seen the final product. Given that you are quite clearly an 'Audi fan', I'd still wait and make my final decision when I see the final product.

I didn't recall calling anyone's opinion as tripe. As for my opinion on the 'finished product', well like I said, there will be a few with red faces as it's a rather attractive design.

P.S.
When you make your final decision I will be all ears.

Maybe along with superhuman hearing that can perceive few hundred rpm differences in engine note, he also has xray vision than can see through the camo?

i am certain that if audi replaces its four rings with the bmw propeller, then the a7 will suddenly become beautiful and exciting to some people. i can make that statement without having seen the car undisguised.

Cool! Any more cheap shots?
Also, it's not the BMW people not liking this car, it's basicly everybody exept (some/most) Audi fans. LOL.

No, the side profile, the shape is really weird, not something that BMW will come up with, 100% certainty. I'm sure it'll get mean looking headlights, but that's about it i'm afraid. Can't believe how such a shape could be approved for production.
For the 5GT, the closest thing it looks like is the X6... doesn't look like the Hyundai, totally different size different height different everything... well perhaps the 5GT is a huge and tall hatchback, but you can't say all hatchbacks are inspired by all other hatchbacks, for example. And i think the 5GT actually has some excellent practical value to it.

The sad truth is that like almost all modern designs the A7 needs overly large alloys before it looks right.

This is very true. 10 years ago, 18" wheels were big. Today, 20" is the new "big".

Regarding the A7, I hope it turns out to be executed in a different manner compared to the A5 Sportback - one of the few modern cars that look better on picture than in real life.

If it's going to be similar to this concept, then I'm sure it will live up to all the hype.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
