So now we have the new A8 and the new A6 in this thread... lol

Audi, start with visible testing please. There would be much more hype and exposure if they started testing their cars like MB and BMW!

Why is it so difficult to do spy shots of Audis ? Do they test only in private circuits or super isolated areas ?

Mostly private circuits I think. They have facilities where they are able to create every type of road that this planet has..No need to go out I guess.

 I don't think that Audi would rely on internet buzz over spy shots and videos of camouflaged pre-production test mules - or lack thereof - for "exposure" even if they had to. Enthusiasts like us who discuss such things on forums probably account for a very small minority of the intended target customer base.

Besides, I don't get the comment about M-B and BMW. Their test mules are spied testing on the Nordschleife (for example) and in various other locations around the world. Audi's test mules are, er, spied testing on the Nordschleife and in various other locations around the world...:t-hands:

Bartek, the video is a repost: http://www.germancarforum.com/a8-s8...n-audi-a8-d4-spy-pics-info-20.html#post422767

I agree. Considering that Audi is part of the European Union Auto Group Volkswagen Auto Group, they probably have access to a number of private locations. One that instantly comes to mind is the 'secret' test track that Top Gear were given access to blast the Bugatti Veyron up to its v.max.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
