Exactly. It has been mentioned on numerous occasions that the probability of an X5-M are very slim.
I think the mystery M -Power will be anything but an X5-M.
I reckon M6-CSL.

Very true, and it makes sense. Give the Z4 the V8, if it fits and doesn't turn the weight distribution to crap (which it won't, if memory serves) and you still leave room for a M5/M6 V10 powered Z8 type halo car, if that's still in the pipeline.
But maybe said halo car is the new mystery car. Though I hardly can see how they can keep it under wraps for so long... unless all those camo'd M6s and such running around are also this Z8 mule. Lord if I know.

In any case, this is what i want to see from them in the near future: Z8 successor (SL competitor in both M versions, standard M and CSL), Concept CS to become new 8 series (with M version of course, very wide and long, low profile and engines starting from 4.8 V8 and further, nothing below that, not even petrol TT I6!), X6 M (featuring V10 of course), also to feature V8 diesel engine and not only I6 diesel engines, next 7 series to have is version with 12 cylinders, even more luxury than current, aggressive front look and not sad and dumb one like Pre-FL, lower profile than current, M3 CSL to have at least 70 kilos less, at least 440hp, torque increased for 7-8 %, more sporty interior and of course some nice 19"s minimum, M6 CSL (see M3 CSL
), next X3 (oh, here we go ), complete and absolute change of entire exterior design to more sleeker design with the dose of aggressiveness of course...
(rest i have no problem with), next 5 series not to change too much, but rather only to further improve as much as they can in things they're currently best in..., X1, X4 & V/F series i don't think too much about since i don't know too much and for the moment don't care about them...

BMW never show two new M models on the same carshow. They will show the Coupe now and Sedan later if we should trust BMW patttern.
