Lol @ Artist...right, Merc makes so wonderful car that you just have to praise them...Can't help but thinking to all the marvel they brought to the world...

Wimmer, those pics are just beautiful man. I was very fortunate to own the W126 S-Class and so are you. To call the W126 S-Clas ugly is utter blasphemy against the mother goddess Mercedes-Benz. It was truly one of Sacco`s best designs.

It has been said many times that the W126 S-Class was one of the most influential and powerful designs of the 80s and earily 90s. It was very hard for the competition (if it had any at the time) to keep up with this model. It was even voted #1, top-quality car by JP-power in 1991. A feat no other excutive German luxury car has yet matched!

Top honors should go to the W126 S-Class!!

Man, I totally agree here! even with a replaced door hinge it took a little muscle to close the very heavy doors of this car! and the precise "thunk"
thay produced was a total pleasure to the ears. Nothing but German precision
here. This model, along with the W126 S-Class were truly built like bank vaults!

Getting back OT I never thought the R-Class was ugly, just so so.
I finally saw an AMG version and I was wowed! this is one the best looking hybreds when pimped. It`s way too plain without a sports package of some sort.

My grandfather use to have this Benz model but it was orange? ORANGE?? why did the car had a hippie colour?
Its a strong red colour on this one above and my GF was orange. Really special colours already in those days

Those were the '70s and early '80s. Colors like that were pimp and "in" in those days. Have you seen a brown W123? They look awesome!

The W123 range was available with a wide variety of colors, like most Mercedes' of the time. Beginning with the 190 W201 and W124 and W126 in the early '80s, the color choices were reduced.

I am envious now! I love the W123 so much! You had in the family!

Actually he have owned several Benzes. He has owned some really old Benzes as well, all the way back to 50's, 60's. I do not know the name of those models though. Nowadays he is too old and do not drive cars anymore.

I think you are referring to the 140 Coupe with the Picasso-like melted headlights. A real slug. The W203 C-Coupe is truly awful plus the slooow selling R, the W210 with it's shocking (for the time) face and it's lets-go-home-early ass end. Any 126 or 123 with AMG bits. And of course the God awful Smart. The early SLK with that agricultural four cylinder.
