I think it is a fair assumption to say that Raikkonen is overrated.
Good job Mclaren- although I would have preferred a Hamilton victory
Felipe Massa- live to fight another day.

Holy mother of mercy, this was the most boring race this season. And the distances were insane. Only 3 drivers in one lap, and the McMercs were 50+ sec. ahead of no.3 Ferrari.

Renault's Fisi has done well and so did BMW. But this was freak race, I think.

but it was daaamn booring..
anyways congrats to Alonso and Hamilton
Ferrari sucks.. to bad they even got 3rd
and thats bmw´s fault by the way.. if they would have qualied like they did in heat 1 and 2...they would have been 3rd and 4th on the grid..
but as always you cant trust bmw.. haha:D

  • What a fu*** looser strategy from BMW, to bet all on a SC and Rain, But Drivers did a good job and specialy Robert.
  • McLaren Did a fantastic job.
  • Felipe did what i expected but Raikonnen deceived me one more time, hey Boy it's Time to awake.
  • Good Job Fisico.
  • RBR sucks as always ( Did you see what they did to the wing  )
  • I know that Overtaking is almost impossible at Monaco but boy what a depresive and borring race. Every Year FIA Idiots elaborate new crap rules and every year the show get worse. Bernie & Max go to hell. :t-banghea

Not the great race I was expecting, no huge crashes, or anything really. The highlight was when the two Mclaren boys were trying to out do each other, Alonso got very sideways at one point. Mclaren definitely was much faster than Ferrari, but I think that's just for this circuit, the reason why both BMW and Ferrari didn't do as well as expected is because they have longer chassis which aren't so great on a street circuit.

Fisichella did well, although I really wanted him to crash out or something, to let the BMWs through. I wonder what happened to Kubica on those last few laps though because he missed the apex on one of the corners, and slowed down a bit for a few of the laps.

I really wanted Hamilton to win, but Alonso was untouchable today, showed why he has won 2 championships. Interestingly, with an interview after the race with Ron Dennis, he said that at about lap 10, he told his drivers to slow down, and the cars could have gone much faster, personally I think that was a load of BS!

Yeah I heard Alonso claiming it the easiest race/victory of his carrier.

It's scary, the McMercs boys could have done 2 maybe even 3 more pitstops and still come out on top.

Good to see Renault doing better.

And you know what ? Ron said that his guys were cruising and they were far from pushing the car to its limits.
McLaren boss Ron Dennis says his team were cruising for most of the Monaco Grand Prix, despite Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton lapping nearly the entire field.

Alonso finished over a minute ahead of Ferrari's Felipe Massa, third today. The Brazilian was the only driver who finished on the same lap as Alonso and Hamilton.

But despite their dominance, Dennis said his team could have been a lot faster.

"We were cruising from lap ten, really; it was an effortless race, and tremendous discipline from both drivers," Dennis told ITV after the race. "A couple of small problems, but nothing serious, and either of the drivers could have won.

"I won't tell you what the true pace was, but it was a lot quicker than we went," he added with a smile.

Dennis said both drivers could have gone quicker if necessary, but admitted they were asked to slow down in order to minimise the risks.

"Really from the first round of stops it was very apparent that either driver could push harder," he added.

"It's frustrating for the driver, but we have to function as a team, and slowing them down was difficult, because you have to maintain concentration, but that's my job."

After the Monaco race, the fifth round of the championship, McLaren lead Ferrari by 20 points.

Yes I hear you. When they banned the wide cars/slicks/active suspensions we've lost mecanical grip.

When they banned the big wings, considering the bans of ground effects and/or movable aerodynamics, the solution was winglets/horns/ears aerodynamics witch destroyed the slip stream and replaced it with a turbulence/stream stream.

So I want 50/50 mecanical/aero grip distribution, that meaning bringing back the wide cars/slicks/active suspensions and choping the winglets and going back to the big wings and/or ground effects solution.

Oh yeah and bring back the V10s too.

I agree but i really doubt FIA will do it.

Yep, those B------S like to play experts on "improving safety", "cutting costs" and "putting the driver back in" and thus f--- us with boring races.

Damn, if we could just find a way to "persuade them" (involving something very painful).

Wohoo, it feels so great to be back in Sweden and I finally got a chance to watch a race this season. Like expected Alonso and Hamilton were untouchable at pole position.
Monaco is a very tight track making any form of take over extremely difficult, resulting in barely any action. You finish like you start and can only be overtaken if your team has a rubbish strategy.

McL

BMW saved face with descent grid positions...

Not to many accident (which is the only thing that makes Monaco exciting)... so it was a boring race.

Next race is here in Montreal... can't wait, I got great seats this year! :usa7uh:

Here is a tought. Some tracks should have automated sprinkle systems so as to make sure that during the race it's very wet out there. :D :D :D

Who's with me ?!

Do not write of Ferrari, they knew it was going to be difficult race.
The fundamental problem with Ferrari in Monaco is in the design of the cars.
They have the longest wheelbase which provides excellent weight distribution, but hurts in tight circuits- and that was exactly what we saw today. I believe you only have two circuits that are tight(Monaco and the Montreal GP). I think the worst is over.

yep chonkoa i know..ferrari is still in the game..and very much a threath..
so im not forgettin about them yet

PS
Montreal next then..another win for McL by your calculations then?

:eusa_clap

What he said, but still, kudos to both drivers for being in top 5, at least one of them. Points and that's what matters.

I'm having hopes for Canada, beemers should be pretty fast there...

:t-cheers:

I see Mclaren having a strong showing in Montreal as well.
