THE VISION.


With the motto “Every MINI is my MINI” – the idea of sharing rather than owning – the MINI of the future no longer waits all day for its owner, but is always on the move as a mobility partner for a MINI community. However, there will still be plenty of people who want to purchase a MINI exclusively for themselves. The MINI VISION NEXT 100 harnesses its intelligence to tailor the mobility experience to the differing needs of each and every customer.

#1 Digitally Mine.
In the future, you will no longer need to purchase your own MINI to stay fully mobile; digital connectivity enables intelligent mobility that feels as personal and engaging – even more than today. In this way, every MINI will be my MINI.

#2 Cooperizer.
The MINI VISION NEXT 100 becomes an intelligent companion and selects the configuration of entertainment, communication and driving functions the driver chooses. The circular central instrument communicates with the user through changes in colour.

#3 Urban Go-Kart.
The MINI has always been a small and agile car, the city its natural stamping ground. And its focus on driving fun remains as strong as ever in the MINI VISION NEXT 100. On the move drivers can decide how much power they’d like – anything up to the John Cooper Works end of the spectrum is possible.

#4 Experience Sharing.
Sharing goods will be more important for many people. Cleverly shared mobility is effortless and opens up new avenues to explore exciting experiences. The MINI VISION NEXT 100 acts as the gateway to the MINI Community.

Although extremely futuristic, It bears no resemblance or trademarks to the MINI, unlike the BMW and RR concepts

The "Grille" shape is there, and the round head lamps...

Overall, I can see what they were aiming for, but I think they've underdone the execution of it.
 
I particularly love the "Every MINI is my MINI" idea ... Especially in the upcoming car-sharing era. So, every MINI you will own / rent / drive / share / ride in etc will "recognize" you, and will customize itself to cater to your tastes & needs (turning on various personal settings of yours - you will preset in your account via app etc). Very clever idea IMHO. They are making future MINI very sharing-ready. Cool.
 
Smart ideas about shared ownership. Many people will want access to a car, not own one but still want it to feel personal.

Being able to activate your preferences when a Mini you have summoned or booked will be appreciated as cars aren't just means of transportation but also personal expressions.

However I don't get what the projector is all about.

"Bumper sticker" of the future? ;) The car & the passengers communicating with the outside world, expressing themselves etc. Features like "text-to-road", "show-your-mood", "indicate-your-direction" ... but also useful for more serious purposes - like safety (when driving in manual mode) ... projectors projecting safety distance lines; projecting hazard signs etc.

In my opinion I would say that although there would be radical change. A BMW customer would still look for the key attributes that define the brand. BMW Vision Next 100 could have been a bubble or an egg on wheels? But BMW see its core elements of a sports sedan still being popular and of relevance to what a future BMW customer expects.
So although it remains radical it is still familiar and identifiable as a BMW.
 
like it, although i don't like the idea of the full transparent front where your body, head to toe can be seen from outside. it's a concept but someone must've thought about it to apply it here...
