The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (marketed as Mercedes-AMG SL since 2022) is a grand touring sports car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz since 1954. The designation "SL" derives from the German term "Sport-Leicht", which translates to "Sport Light" in English.

Oh no, the one really thing that i was happy about, the atheltic appearnce of the side carried on from the last SL and that makes this hardtop roadster miles away from the rest of the pack, seems to be seriously affected on this last batch of photos, the mish mash of soft hard lines must be the reason.

WOWWWW. That is gorgeous.
I really hate to say it.... but I just haven't seen an SL up close yet that's looked special. I REALLY want to love this car, as M-B's that I love are getting fewer and further between the hoards of models they're newly releasing.
It doesn't look bad, and I won't criticize it for "desperate/amateur lines" like I do the CLS, A, etc., as it doesn't suffer from that problem....
.... it's just a little.... boring? Or, lacks a certain character? Maybe dull? Idk, I just can't figure it out. It doesn't have that special grace of the softer R230 either.
Also, WTF is up with the orange LED headlight DRL's? WHY would M-B put hideous orange LED's? People go through great lengths to eradicate any orange lights from their car.... this will make it very difficult. Should have been white/blue like the other cars.
Oh well, maybe my mind will change as I see more models and more colors on the roads. Also, as usual, I won't know how much I REALLY like it until I see a nicely tastefully slightly modded example that shows what lies within the design and how well it could truly do. I have a feeling the new SL will look HOT with some clean up tasteful aggression-enhancers.
